There is a massive difference between a sleeve, which involves tattooing on fat and muscle, and getting a tattoo on your face. You do not fall asleep while tattooing over bone.

Yeah, that's my point. Plus, it takes awhile for the endorphins to start working. 3 little stars would be like 10-15 min of work, tops.

I'm leaning towards thinking she was super high/drunk.

Or he's right all along and she is just lieing now to cover her own ass. I bet you can find people working with young women who see that all the time.

Also, a sleeve is hardly comparable to the face.

Any responsible tattoo artist wouldn't do face work unless the person was HEAVILY inked already and/or they were well known to the artist/sho. Basically no go unless they feel secure that you won't decide it was a terrible idea quickly and potentially come back to haunt them. Not to say there aren't irresponsible or stupid artists out there, but I find most of the guys actually working in legit shops follow the ethical and safety codes of the trade.
