How about the definition of Atheism as it applies to me:

There is no god.
Nothing that happens more than 100 years ago matters to me and I don't give a fuck about it unless it involves a war that could be the basis for a cool movie or video game.

I think you'll find that most people don't care in any way whatsoever about how life started except for those that keep insisting on thier version to be the correct one, who usually are not atheists anyways.
