| Macs are horrible, imagine clicking the "X" on a program only to find it running in your task bar until you go to the corresponding program's File menu and selecting Shut Down every time you wish to close it. Also imagine every time you wish to right click, you actually have to hold down the PC equivelant of "Alt" known as the "Option" key. Idiotic at best and hardly as functional. Having used many many programs under both operating systems, MAC does run 2D graphical programs better, but it runs 3D graphical programs much worse than the PC counterpart. However at the same time the functionality of said programs is pretty craptastic under the MAC version anyways, leaving you wishing you had the functionality of the PC on the few programs that MAC does infact run better. On a MAC when you speed up the mouse pointer speed, there is no way to turn off assisted precision. That is to say the slower you move the mouse the vastly slower your pointer moves on the screen. While the faster you move your mouse the faster the acceleration of the pointer. As someone that prefers a very fast mouse but can precisely click shit on their own without the program assisting in precision, I find the MAC rather lacking in this area, one of many as far as customization goes. For anyone that is not familiar with this option, try adjusting the mouse settings in your control panel, it should be one check for "assisted precision" or some such term. You'll quickly see how annoying that is for anyone that prefers a faster mouse speed. MAC ontop of that has very very bad problems with RAM where the computer is left on for too long running the same programs, I often find myself restarting the MAC in much the same way I use to have to restart my windows 98 P3. Something that I almost never have to do with a properly functioning XP machine. |

I have a PC at home, and a MacBook Pro for school/photo editing. They both have their pros and cons. With the Mac its far easier to keep organized and manage my workflow, especially with programs like aperture, when I have tens of thousands of photos to keep track of. And the PC is of course nice for gaming. | |

I wouldn't be suprised if Apple execs called those their "Apple: Computers for Idiots" campaign. Edit: oh pic.

+161 Internets | Let's not get into that tired debate of PC/Mac. Each side will never convince the other. I have a PC and a Mac, and I play games and do stuff on both. I prefer the Mac for 90% of what *I* personally do, but I will always have a PC in the house, too. To each their own. Every pic I post on this board is posted from a Mac. Does that earn me a pass????

| Yeah, no doubt.. I'm a pretty easy going guy, but my brother-in-law and I get into some heated debates over PC/Mac. It just seems to me that the few Mac users I know (IRL) all have that same smug "My computer is lightyears better than yours" attitude. (not attacking anyone here btw, and GG Wolfy) The breed i'm talking about also have the same excuse since the eighties.. which is "Macs run graphics WAY better than any PC ever will" .. as if thats the final word which makes a PC obsolete? Is this REALLY true? I'm no graphic designer, but I run duel raided 9600GTs (for gaming obviously) and fail to see how any Mac could possibly even compete. I can yield to Final Cut Pro is better than MS Paint, but how the HELL does a software program make a Mac better? -edit- Whoops, wheres my manners.. almost forgot, picture thread! I found this funny...
