I don't know about you, but I imagine in a situation that truly needed emergency help, I would not be thinking rationally at all. People do some amazing and stupid stuff when panicked, looking for the "eleven" button is quite reasonable to expect.

A neighbour of mine fucked up dialing 911. Her husband had been trimming hedges and was stung by a bee or wasp. He didn't realize he was allergic, as he'd never had a problem before. After a few minutes he started to feel hot and itchy, and went inside to take a shower. He ended up passing out in the hallway and his wife came upon him. She's super fucking high strung to begin with, so I can only imagine how she freaked out. She claims she dialed 911 repeatedly and it "wasn't working", but I'd be willing to bet she dialed 991. Thankfully she had her shit together enough to call another neighbour down the street who was a nurse and had an epipen handy, and her husband didn't croak because of her stupidity.

I have always thought if you hunt animals for sport then you should be able to be hunted. Anyone killing another person this way is safe from any legal reprecussion as its "sport".

For me its the craftmanship that goes into making the rifle, i could careless about killing a waterbuffalo, rhino, or elephant, but if you are going to spend more than 20k on a rifle might as well use it to take down something big.

How many of the people bitching here are vegetarians? I see a lot more integrity in actually facing the animal you kill and eat than in just buying a plastic package in the grocery store.

edit: as a clarification for the -internet -- By "face", I don't mean face down/challenge/whatever, I mean being more intimate with the animal whose life you are taking. I'm a staunch believer in the NRA, and I don't care about hunting at all. I think it's not exciting, and that it's pretty much for rednecks and has no 'sport' involved (Modern big game hunting anyway), but I'm also not some bleeding heart who cares about what you want to do with your time and money. It does bother me when someone comes in trying to say that everyone who has lived there for thousands of years is somehow retarded and would've stripped the land of all resources if we weren't graciously hunting things for them.

As we ride by to slay the big nasty elephant they exclaim "Yes massa tank'ya sah!" give me a break. If you're gonna go shoot an animal that takes about as much skill to shoot as picking your own nose, at least have the balls to admit why you're doing it without trying to sound like you're 'helping' anyone but your own ego.
