I'm thinking a troll/smartass combination. Apparently this guy has been around for a while, and has a whole cache of posts ranging from mild to not so much. Also apparently others have been looking for this specific thread/post, but alas it appears to have been deleted. I'm pretty sure it was a trolling effort in this case though.
