They provide my body with proteins (aminos) and fats (lipids) that are difficult if not impossible to get elsewhere. They provide a lot of these along with calories in relatively small portions.

Most people eat way too much meat. Way way too much. Eating none, however, is wrong as well. Liberal, conservative. They're both wrong. The truth is always somewhere in the middle.

I am the last person to criticize other peoples eating habits. I could really care less if you want to scarf down 100lbs of veal covered in bacon and turkey gravy. GG for you. You sure got me.

There is exactly nothing that comes exclusively from animals that you cannot get from other sources without resorting to pill popping.

B12, iron (both heme and non-heme), all essential amino proteins, calcium and every mineral, fat and vitamin are incredibly easy to get in a non-animal based diet.
It's not like it's all that hard either. I can get enough vegan shit to eat at fucking Wal-Mart if I wanted to (I don't because I like to know where my food comes from).

Don't make shit up and try to pass it off as fact.

No need to start a vegan debate. Just let the vegans eat what they want, they aren't hurting anyone surely.

Me, I weightlift and stick to a high-protein diet. A year ago you'd see me eating a triple burger meal large sized with chicken strips from wendy's every single night. Luckily I changed my ways... I don't even want to think how heavy I'd be right now.

I don't think anyone has a problem with a vegan diet (note I didn't say "vegans").

It's that people with a vegan diet think they are "Vegans" and get tattoos and shirts and other bullshit to advertise their status.

It is 100% bullshit. If I got a tattoo on my head that says "I LIKE PEPSI MORE THAN COKE!!!" it's the exact same as a "VEGAN!" tattoo. Show me a single "OMNIVORE!" tattoo or shirt that ISN'T a joke mocking vegans.

Other than the Jackalope and the Loch Ness Monster, there's only 1 other completely undocumented animal: the secret vegan.

I most definitely don't advertise, and don't educate either. People can eat what they want; my response was that the original pic had a "turkey burger", which most people would think is healthier than regular burgers and thus ok to eat. I made a parallel with vegan food, which everyone assumes is healthy and fine, but like everything if you load up on certain things you're screwed just the same.

However, as the person above posted, you're misinformed. Vegans can get all of the nutrition they need without animals in their diet. Animal proteins and by-products are simply the easiest way to get said minerals and vitamins, not the healthiest.

It's even easier because everything comes fortified. Orange juice, cereals etc, which can easily make up for certain things. The only pill I pop is b12 simply because I've never gotten enough b12, even when I wasn't vegan or vegetarian. I don't think b12 comes from plant foods at all, but it's simply so easy to get fortified things that you don't have to eat animals for it.

Its weird that this is being talked about because i just went vegan a couple weeks ago just to see how long i could go without eating any animal products and because im fat and need to lose weight.

Im doing it for health reasons and for a challange not for all the weird animal rights bs that most seem to do it for and i would think that would make me more normal then the vegans that get tat's and shit. But when my friends found out i was doing it they thought it was more retarded that i just wasnt eating meat or dairy or honey or any animal product for basically no reason other then to see if i could.

So basically vegans cant win no matter what? Idk but i feel a whole lot healither then i did before i started.

To be fair, how much did you control your diet before you started? Eating right will make you feel better regardless of vegan or not.

Most vegetarians will be healthier because in order to be a vegetarian, you have to be that much more aware of what you're eating. On top of the basic fact that you care that much about your nutrition already.
