I know enough about the call center employment policies to know that this sort of thing, even if the actual comments are fake, is standard practice. Especially for bigger companies because most actually want to be seen as a good place to work. Personally, I'd rather shoot myself than willingly join a call center. Had a chance to increase my hourly pay by $5 a couple of years ago and flat out turned it down because I hate stupid people and when you call into a center for help, it doesn't matter how smart you are, at that moment in time you are stupid.

The best thing that ever happened on my job was when our call center went 24/7. Up until a couple of years ago, the department I worked in took calls from 8pm-4am. I work in a hospital, so running up against stupid people who are charged with the care of human beings just didn't give me a warm fuzzy. Night shift and weekends are the worst because that's when the really stupid people come into work.

Working in a call center isn't as bad as people make it seem. I don't think so, anyway. I do it. I like my job. It's repetitive. Customers are typically dumb. But you, of course, know that when you sign up for the job. But the pay is really good when you consider how easy the work is. I get paid well to sit on my ass and tell people to power cycle their routers while I surf the internets. The work is insanely easy. And they pay for college. And the benefits are amazing. And free internet, phone and television. For doing virtually nothing except showing up for 8 hours, because it's really that easy.

The worst part of my job, the part I really can't stand, is my coworkers endlessly bitching about customers.

Living in your parent's basement isn't as bad as people make it seem. I don't think so, anyway. I do it. I like my place of residence. It's lame. Parents are typically annoying when you live with them. But you, of course, know that when you're too lazy to pay for an apartment. But it doesn't cost hardly anything when you consider the amenities. I get to pay nothing to use laundry facilities, sit on my ass and play video games, and ask my mom for powdered donut surprise and clean towels. The arrangement is insanely easy. And they pay for the place (and often, college). And the benefits are amazing: Free internet, phone and television. For doing nothing except sitting on your ass and maybe working at a restaurant, because it's really that easy.

Sorry, I'm not accusing you of living in your parent's basement or anything, but I couldn't resist the analogy. Sometimes a challenge is fun and can really help you better yourself. But having a cheese job that pays well is nice, too.

For some people I agree... The type that is highly motivated and has long term goals and shit like that.

But some of us suffer from Office Space Syndrome ("I'm not lazy, i just dont care") for these people the simple mindless job, with no sense accomplishment is better.
