| need reviews of single player rpg's Any opinions of Planescape: Torment or Icewind Dale II? I loved baldur's gate 2 and it's expansion, despite both being fairly easy. How do the above games compare? Are character levels and progression at least as high level as in baldurs gate 2 + expansion? Any word on any great rpg's coming out soon? I'm going through fuckin withdrawals here.

| Consider Baldurs Gate 2 the happy medium, and PS:T and IWD/2 as being on the very end of either spectrum. Planescape being on the story side, and windy dale on the combat/action side. That being said, PS:T is among one of the best CRPGs out there. And if you havent, you need to hit up the fallouts

| planescape was...odd. Once I got beyond the "lower" hive it just got really combat-easy. Just to make TNO a virtual god I got him 25 in all stats in the final Shadow City/Fortress on Negative Material plane. hehe. ID2 depends on how large you make your group. My 6-man team finished in the upper teens/low 20s, while smaller teams would get up into the upper 20s. I think the cap was 40, but I have no idea how you could get to it without just importing higher level chars from a previous play-through. |

+41 Internets | fallout1/2 are defenitely classics and should never be missed... not to mention the fact there are literally thousands of ways to play it out planescape is very much storybase and yeah, as pointed above, the baldurs gate series could be in the middle with planescape being much more story based but the icewind dale series (which are all excellent IMO) much more action based... but who cares, play em all ;P |

| Morrowind is my current obsession. There's a lot to do in that game, especially with the two expansion packs. ID2 is... lackluster. It's pretty much BG2 without the plot. If you're feeling like some mindless hack-and-slash, though, it's at least more fun than Diablo 2. |

http://www.arxfatalis-online.de/ Divine Divinity - sort of a mix between Neverwinter Nights and Ultima VII. The game is split between 2 worlds. Part 1 is among the best RPG gaming I've ever played. There's an expansion coming at the end of the year and a full sequel is coming late 2004. http://www.larian.com/ Gothic 2 - this is coming out anytime, at least here in Europe. 3D RPG with lots of stuff to do. The German version sold great in Germany, and now we finally can get the English version through Infogrames. http://www.piranha-bytes.com/gothic2...glish/home.php Enjoy :-)

| yeah the fallouts were good, albeit buggy so I'm not sure i ever beat fallout 2 (after several failed game runthru's). I played the original game Wasteland, which really rocked back in the late 80's. icewind dale, with more combat sounds like the game for me. It wasn't so much the story of baldur's gate 2, but the combat which I really enjoyed. I am counting on the hardcore difficulty level keeping me busy for some time. Morrowind was a snoozer for me, far too much running around fetching shit for people and poor combat gameplay for my tastes.

| Planescape: Torment, think I never read as much gametext ever in any game, its like a book if you take your time to do everything, and even then you can try a different way and find more. ID2, the higher res makes it quite playable and was overall fun, a bit too short for my taste (8h playtime?), think I got ID right along with ID2. Evil Islands is a nice russian, I think, RPG, difficult at times and sure felt like I was playing commandos with a knive only (since backstab seemed to be the only way to kill some stuff). | I loved Planescape. The story was fantastic and it was refreshing playing in a world as unique and diverse as the one offered. Id highly recommend it. Morrowind is great if your looking for a truly immersive world. Its untouchable when it comes to the depth, though its fairly easy. Icewind Dale was more liek a Diablo type RPG to me, strqaight forward combat with a very slim story line. Its fun for what it is. |

| Divine Divinity is a cool rpg that I played recently. It's more Diablo 2 type hack and slash then Baldurs Gate, but it's still a lot of fun. Here is a review from Gamespot. http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/divin...ty/review.html |

| Another good Single player Dungeon siege. The game is made by microsoft and even though it came out some time ago still has great graphics. It's a diablo type RPG but the skill trees are far more advanced. With multiplayer the game has long lasting appeal. Supposedly they're releasing DS2. I can't wait for that.
