i wont belabor the point; nor do i think all of sony/verant is out to get them. but i can state from my own experiences that there are a few devs and GMs that routinely go out of their way to make EQ unpleasent for FOH.

Except that you know some brilliant dipshit at SoE has done marketing studies and discovered they make more $$$ b/c of what you call "whining" by FoH and other tops guilds. Keeps all of us board trollers and FoH dick-suckers happy (right Grandbean?)...if they simply disbanded them...they'd be without a good bit of their PR and player interest...

In the simplest terms...fucking with FoH and other uber guilds (and the subsequent updates we all find so amusing) actually generates more player interest in the game and more money for SoE...difficult to believe? Not really

there are those that would love to see nothing more than FOH disbanded and gone from EQ.

fortunatly; its not a simple process.

FOH has a couple things going for them: they dont get caught exploiting on a regular basis (regardless of what rumors you might hear), and they are for the most part one of the best behaved guilds in the game (though highly outspoken on public msg boards; this is not punishable by the rules while in game). and of course there are a few that can at least appreciate the fact that FOH can and does contribute to the game in many ways (testing; content input and of course: marketing/advertising/inspiration)

and furor has been banned (on a previous account); there are GMs that watch him like a hawk now and would like nothing more than to ban him again. but with a strict review system (that didnt always exist in the past); they would need proof of additional wrong doing, not some accusation of wrong doing on a previous account. quite frankly i didnt even see proof in the original ban; it may have existed, but a good portion of it was deleted and other parts obviously tampered with: but all of it prior to my working where i could get my hands on the documentation.

they have gone so far as to punish him openly; ive seen them lock zones on him: witnessed this first hand with the GM cussing his head off. why? because he felt like being a jerk and was in a position to get away with it. there are other direct incidents; but id rather not drag this on for pages.

if they had more power; they probably would disband them. ive certainly seen it tried; ive seen the guild tag deleted purely out of spite and blamed on the guild bug. heck ive restored the guild name on more than one occasion myself

as i said: its not all of sony; but a handful enough to cause harrasment and resentment.

anyway; this isnt an issue i feel like discusing in further detail like this. let me just finish by saying some of those same jerk offs are the reason i no longer work at sony.

I don't get why the GM's would the game's top players. That'd be like the NBA officials or whatever hating Michael Jordon. I just don't understand.

Well, I do see that Furor/FOH bad mouth the GMs a lot, but they are usually doing so in a manner to try to get things fixed.

I dunno, I don't even play EQ, but it would make me sick to see any of the FOH gang banned.
