I looked all over to buy it tonight but no luck, Wal-mart doesn't even carry Everquest in any form. Otherwise this is slow as shit at 50kbs, unless someone has some secret sauce place they want to share.

You have to install EQ Titanium and then edit your eqhost.txt file (found in your Everquest directory) to say:

Host=eqemulator.net:5998

Now go to the EQEmulator website and register for an account. You need a forum account, and then you need to sign up for a play or login server account. Once you have that account you're ready to play.Whatever you do, do not use the normal method of starting EQ because then it will try to patch. DO NOT EVER PATCH. All you have to do is create a shortcut on your desktop, or wherever, to the file eqgame.exe. Right click on the shortcut and click on properties. One of the options will be Target. The box will look like this:

"C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest\eqgame.exe"

Change it to this:

Quote:

"C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest\eqgame.exe" patchme

Now use that shortcut whenever you want to play. You could also just use WinEQ or some other similar program that will allow you to skip the patching process.

Is there a way to copy a live edition of EQ that's up to date and use it for this? If not I can see it taking forever and a day to get the files.

Question.. My friend quit playing a couple months ago, if I download the trial and use his login info will I be able to patch the rest of the expansions and join you guys that way?

Edited to add that I'm not sure if it's Titanium or not. Going to check that out when I can, but my question is, if it is will I be able to download the rest of the client from the patcher?

How exactly do I do that? I can't find an appropriate subforum

I can't get the game to run anyways. It attempts to open the window, then it shuts down.

okay got the account now but I still can't get the game to run. Any way to make this run windowed from the start?

aside from changing your shortcut from

"C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest\eqgame.exe"

to

"C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest\eqgame.exe" patchme

and making your login server (in your eqhost.txt file)

Host=eqemulator.net:5998

there really isn't much else that i had to do to get mine to run just fine

For example, on a 1920x1200 desktop,

WindowedWidth=1920
WindowedHeight=1080

Works pretty well. Gives enough room for a double-high taskbar and a bit of room above and below the EQ window to maneuver things you might want to be able to see (like the top line of top in linux so I know that these websites are up, for example

) while playing.

Edit: Yes, that's the server.
