| A Bearded Gnome | Alot of people won't be able to stomach Project 1999 because it's going for the same exp curve as 1999 EQ. I for one will be playing once it's out of beta.

if they want P1999 as classic as possible, they have to decide between "do we want the classic leveling curve" and "do we want the large population that EQ 99 had" I for one think that a large population is far more important than a realistic leveling curve. It's not classic if people are forced to twobox because there is no one to group with. Last edited by Quineloe; 07-03-2009 at 03:48 AM.. | |

+2 Internets | To be honest the old leveling curve doesn't really feel too bad... after playing with it a while it just feels like classic EQ really wasn't designed to be a huge loot festival, raining down levels and spells etc. on the masses. It feels more like a chatroom adventure with medbreaks to shoot the shit, with loot and raids and all that as just additional fun on top of being able to play an "rpg" with other people online. Yeah it may seem painful if you need constant stimulation and need to be level 50 immediately -- and I can definitely see the grievance of a low population / no groups / can't catch up. But to those of us who joined after the first few patches etc. and to some extent even classic players, I think there's a lot of content in there that was taken out that will be rediscovered, it's really cool. TL;DR Leveling curve may be slightly harsh -- but lots of oldschool quests that were bugged are being fixed and lots of neat items are returning ![]() The ui has made some progress also (still needs work): Anyway if anyone remembers old school things that you might want put back in they still need some knowledgeable folks. |

+2 Internets | I don't want to overload those guys with work but the website is Guild Forums : PROJECT 1999 - Guild Launch Guild Hosting All you really need to do is follow their advice and replace a few files -- otherwise it's really no different than playing on any other EQ EMU. You will have to load the Velious UI that they have to get rid of the newer, shittier version, but after that it's just a matter of rearranging the windows to get it to look like that. |

| If you mean the part where Searyx and Null were responding to every little quip made in this thread at one point, then yes. But 80% of the blame lies with the FOH citizens who went full-retard, and they know who they are. Durin's eulogy didn't leave much to debate. Searyx didn't have much to do with anything besides cattle-prodding the retard pile occasionally. Can't blame the GMs for having a temperamant. Some of the posters here were downright embarassing. Threatening to rage quit, doom and gloom the-world-is-against-me corruption, calling the GMs every name you could think of, and then on top of that in the same post you request progressive changes such as "transparency", as well as a list of 100 other demands. Wow, what a tantrum, I guess is the word for it. The only guy who came out of this with any class was Durin. People had legitimate points, but consensus says the presentation sucked.
