The problem with a TRUE conspiracy theory is that most people are going to say, "oh... well of course that's true... that's no conspiracy theory at all", and forget that there was a time BEFORE the theory was proven true when people who talked about it were thought to be nutjobs.

But here's one to get you thinking. Once upon a time a bunch of burglars were discovered breaking into a hotel which housed the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee. While SOME people whispered that this was part of a secret conspiracy of wiretapping and intimidation authorized at the highest levels, the president's press secretary denouced such rumors and even mocked the crime as a "third-rate burglary". Most Americans at the time thought the connection was ridiculous.

The name of the hotel and succeeding scandal was WATERGATE.

When you're done thinking about that one, you might want to look into the Operation Mockingbird (CIA influencing media with propoganda), Tuskegee Syphilis Study (public health service purposely infecting and preventing treatment of people), or the Manhattan Project (top scientists secretly gathered to develop super-weapons). All of these one-time conspiracy theories were all proven to be completely and indisputably true.

Oh, but for the Tuskegee experiment they didn't actually infect anyone, it's just one of those things that gets said over and over. They simply denied (and lied about) treatment, as well as not telling them what they had, while they studied the long term affects of syphilis.

Why hasn't China copied these patents like they have all of the legitimate ones? Why doesn't China, or ANY country, especially our enemies, spend their time making free-energy machines when we put them up on patent websites? Depends what you mean by free; wind, water, sun, are all free sources of energy just costs money to be able to harness them. If you mean something like the 1000+ "perpetual motion machines" patented that don't work, then no. Time machines are more likely. Hell if I had a perpetual motion machine then the troublesome energy requirement on most of the "time machine" solutions wouldn't be a problem since I'd have an infinite supply from my perpetual motion machines. So Lumie better start thinking about what his conspirators are doing with their time machines.

The problem with conspiracy theories is that it implies the conspirators are really stupid. Why fake something, when you can easily just manipulate public perceptions of true events for your own purposes?
