I don't think it was significantly harder to farm Soulfires on a Zek server ("was" because only Pally can use it now since the last ToT was a ToF - Test of Farming).

Before I get jumped at I'll add that skill and gear was also an important factor, but prolly not as high as having determined people ready to do the questing and the faction work necessary to all have a soulfire ready to be clicked.

Work, time and determination got rewarded which is ok but not great for a PvP event.

The reason that most people don't play on a PvP server, and/or don't give 2 shits about PvP is quite simple really....IT IS NOT BALANCED. I don't play on a PvP server, or know anyone on a PvP server...so I can't quite comment on the environment of said server. However, I can add in my view from hours upon hours spent screwing around in the arenas.

Gear does make quite a difference in a PvP match-up, as it does in a Player vs Mob match-up. Take your Big_Swinging_Dick Warrior or other melee class, and send them to solo something. Now, take your average Joe_Schmoe melee class (same one) and send them to solo the exact same mob, there is going to be quite a difference. It's the same with casters that have the gear which grants them more HP, Mana and mana/HP regen. Take your average Wizard with 2kish HP, and a 3.6k mana pool and send him to solo something in PoV, now take the Wizard with 3k HP, and a 5k mana pool...along with a nice rune, and mana regen. The better equipped Wizard *Gasps* will be able to solo better (Assuming they're played by people of the same skill at the class). Why's this? Because the better equipped Wizard has more room for error, and a better rate of recovery from each mob.

The people who put more time into the game tend to get better gear (Disclaimer: This statement does not apply to everyone). It's a given in most cases. As Aftahott said *Ducks*, the gear you have is like a professional boxer training. Only instead of becoming stronger at the base, you become stronger via equipment.

I don't mind PvPing once in a while, but skill in PvP only makes up for so much. I've also heard too many stories of the bullshit that tends to happen on the PvP servers that made me steer clear of them right away. If you enjoy playing on a PvP server, so be it...go ahead and play on them. If you enjoy playing on a regular server where you might have to put up with the bullshit of other players to a greater extent...play on a regular server. This is a game, play it how you enjoy playing it.

Argh, there's that smell. Sorry to tell you, but fighting a player is much different from fighting a mob.

Hate to break your heart daisy, but strategies that work on mobs don't usually work on players. Try again with your baseless comparisons.

Yeah and I've "heard stories" that on blue servers every character has wings, that doesn't make it true.

Skill in pvp when the oponents are even moderately close in gear matters a very large amount. I've seen a troll shadowknight with 3k hp fight a dark elf shadowknight (both 52) who had 2300 and the troll died with the dark elf still at 45 percent life. The troll had better gear by a decent quota and still lost badly.

No matter what server you are on, you suffer bullshit of other players as you put it. It just comes in different forms. You see, people rarely sit around to block content, or train you repeatedly or any of that other crap on rallos, because if you do, you're dead.

Next time you see fit to comment on something, make sure you have the slightest clue, because on this subject you just don't.
