Since they were a not for profit, I wonder why SOE gives a shit? Or was it the fact the Sp0tter (lead programmer) has a small penis and a huge mouth?

I got tricked into reading this by thinking SOE was throwing out EQ1 entirely, now that would have been a juicy news story. Who cares about emulators for games of which hardly anyone plays even the real flavour anymore.

Why progression? wtf is the need for it? just have it up through velious at max and leave it alone. I think majority of EQ players already agree that's the best idea.

If they churned out a server that stayed at vanilla with kunark/velious ONLY unlockable, I'd resub and probably play fulltime, depending on the ruleset/community.

Now I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm pretty sure if they made a server/servers like this, near all the oldies would come back atleast to dick around for 1 month's subscription. Free+easy money for no content released? Sounds like a no brainer for SOE, that was LDON.

i get the feeling that subs are now so low that eqc might actually put a dent in the eq population.

Well I hope SOE is doing the cool thing and hired to them to make a Classic server and not a Progression server, but I doubt SOE is that smart. I know if they made a server that was up to SOV they would get a sub from me.

yeahhh eq + up to veliuos or maybe luclin ftw
or atlesat longer periods between expansions, i mean fuck with IV I got my VT key and was gone on a raid night came back the next and expansion was open, no more vt.. cry expansions went by too fast to farm and good gear or whatever, was just a fuckin race to open shit.. like waking sleeper

Well Smed reads and knows. They got a shitload of subs from this forum still playing and paying. I think they know they should be thinking about a Classic up to velious. The blackburrow/lguk revamps showed that people want that shit over Aliens and robot dragons.

They also want it to be relevant and relatable to them, now. All of you guys played on Progression for a week and quit. They didn't make money off progession, and yet you keep whining and crying for new progression servers insisting they'd make a buck... face it. They already did. You guys got your hours of nostalgia then dropped the game again like a 5 dollar hooker. Stop pretending you'd 'play it again full time'.
