| Yea, pretty much the gayest of the squadrons. At least you weren't Candyland though.

+25 Internets | 322nd I think, if you're talking about the one that got to eat dessert and shit. I didn't get dessert until we did chow hall duty in like the 4th week, and I think that was the only time. |

| There is no internets | Wierd thing about Basic Training, last week was like fight week for us too. I was restrained by 3 guys trying to get to my bunkmate (the guy was a douchebag, I hate using this term by the very definition of wigger). Anywho, I just had enough, and so did a few other people. There was like at least 7-8 fights that week, was crazy. IMO, that would be a good reality series, last week of basic. BTW this thread is turning into gold.

| The best story I have from basic was when our most awkward member of our flight was on dorm guard duty. This was the week of our hardcore inspections and shit, when we were getting blue roped hard. Well, one day, one of the blue ropes comes to the door and manages to get through while he's on duty. This is a big deal, because there is a list of people who are allowed in, and if that person isn't on the list, you just fucked up royally. The TI begins yelling at him on the spot, obviously. The time this is happening, we're all in a meeting in the day room w/ our TI, so the blue rope walks in and tells all of us to lie down on our backs. He then proceeds to make the dorm guard get our dust covers and cover each of us with them, because he allowed an attack to happen and we were all now dead. After he was done covering each of us, the rope then proceeds to make him write a letter to each of our parents, apologizing for allowing their child to be killed in action and that he was solely responsible for each death. The entire time, this kid is crying and bawling his eyes out, which frankly, just doesn't fucking help your situation. Ever. Period.

| Is that story your original work? I've never served in the military and have absolutely no clue what all the TIs and numbers and all that means. But regardless, you have a really interesting and entertaining writing style. If you don't write for a living, you should at least consider it as a serious hobby. I think you've got a lot of talent. |

| Well, if you ever find the time, maybe try to write and compile about 10 to 15 short stories and see if you can get them published, just for the hell of it. You never know what may come of it. Probably nothing, just given the odds. But if you've already got the material lying around or can crank it out relatively easily, there's nothing to lose by giving it a shot. Alternatively, you could try to submit them individually to magazines. Most magazines accept freelance submissions and will publish them (and pay you, though not well) if they like them. There's a bit of a process to go through, but it's much easier than the process of trying to break into any other kind of writing. |
