| Apparently there's someone I thought was silent that is sending messages to some people to tell them about my penis. I don't recall showing off my goods to anyone mute, but there is some nights I have little to no recollection of my actions, so you never know. I hope (s)he had a good time. I'm both honored and creeped at the same time. |

When I was in 6th grade my class had an agenda. The agenda was created so that students could call out (as in a court system) those that did something that they felt was not allowed in some fashion. And, those that were deemed guilty by the the class would pay the price via suspended time, meaning you would lose all recess points until you paid it off in detention. The issues would be brought up, by a teacher in a mock-court setting with the teacher dealing with specific issues by simply asking the students to visibly show what agreed or disagreed with using hand motions. What ended up happening is that the popular people would simply trounce on those that didn't hold the same position. No matter the issue, the majority would often agree with the issue not based on merit but because of popularity. The rep system here is no different. The rep system here is totally stupid and is really only enacted because there is little other option. Users that stand out, such as Wolfen, gain my respect without the aid of a superficial rep system. And, any users that create a niche for themselves, EXCLUDING those that are popular simply because of position held, command the respect of the community naturally. I am gaining negative reps because I am going against the decision of the popular and those negatively repping me are doing only to fit in with the lemmings that are following it. | Rep given per vote should be based off the the current year minus the users join date year. I should be able to knock people down 6 notches in one hit.

I take it you're the one who left me the "people only give you +1s because they know you and want to get in your pants" comment. And frankly, I am very sorry to hear you feel that way. :\ I would like to think I do a good job around here, and that people like me because of my community management and contributions. But if a lot of positive comments are really just about trying to get in my pants, or are done simply because of my position, that's unfortunate. I'm sure there's some of that going on, but I sincerely hope that most of the positives I'm getting are due to my actions and contributions.

![]() "I hate popularity-based systems, they make me feel bad inside "You want a neat school story? When I was in sixth grade we had a school spelling bee between the fifth and sixth grades. Maybe it was fourth through sixth...I can't remember, there were a lot of kids for a fairly small elementary school. We had a competition in our class to see who was going to represent the class in the bee, and it went on over the course of multiple rounds on multiple days over some period like a week or two or three (it's been a while, OK?). Well, I started slow but gained ground and ended up being the ULTIMATE CHAMPION of the class, and was going to represent us in the bee. But some kids, they wanted me to step down because the guy I ended up edging out was more popular than I was. I had delegates ringing my phone at all hours with quid pro quos and various ways to try and persuade me to step down for the good of the party. BUT I PRESSED ON. And you know what? I won that bee. And I smiled, not because I thought "now I will be popular just like that other guy" but because the kids who wanted me to let him do it instead of me got to look like chumps. And then I got -84 internets, and I was sad ![]() ... ![]()
