Kiting is sploiting there's no way a level 1, 15 mana spell (snare) was ever intended to completely mitigate the entire damage output of a mob. Lots of well known sploits are sploits because they completely render a mob unable to produce damage output. (thereby removing the necessary risk) Pathing sploits, the SK sploit on the arch lich, etc... except in these cases the mobs at least get some opportunity to get a few swings in (ie they're not as bad of sploits as kiting) half the spells, skills, items, stats etc in this game are geared towards damage mitigation, and add them all up (and then double it if you want) and their grand total doesn't come anywhere close to the power of a level 1 druid spell. Is this intended? Virtue + Defensive + 125hps + ... + PE + CH + FOS + SR <<<<< Snare Go read thott's article on damage mitigation of the priest classes and add in snare for druids and watch the cleric's mitigation curve merge with the x axis... as the mobs damage output grows now exponentially so does the absurdity of this sploit spells such as mez, which remove 100% of a mobs damage output are set up so that you can't kill the mob while he is in his gimped state. imo you shouldn't be able to kill a mob while he can't fight back.

isn't a def'n of a sploit to use a spell in a manner not intended in order to benefit yourself? iirc this is almost the defintion that VI gave in regards to COH aggro clearing during the conquest incident. is snare intended to mitigate 100% of a mobs damage output (15 mana to replace all tanks healers and slowers) i don't think so, and i think the kiting nerf on dot damage is evidence that VI didn't intend for snare to be used this way i don't think it's a sploit in the sense that vi will ever do anything about, but technically i think it is one

.... #1 no druid or ranger uses snare for kiting at the level ur lookin at...they use ensnare which is like 30 mana #2 have you ever tried kiting these new mobs? it takes forever with their hps. I'm a lvl 62 ranger with eq and am3 using primal bow and it takes me like 15-20 min per mob to solo (this is on razorfiends in pov) sure it gives me a good amt of exp but the effor tthat goes in etc just make it not worth it over gettin a good group and exping for 3 or 4 hours and clearin a few yellows instead of one yellow for the same time. Snare is not unbalancing its just more then a little useful. If snare is unbalancing for using to mitigate dmg then rez sticks are unbalancing for mitigating mana use laf. If your really that pissed off make a ranger and play the game as it was 2 years ago laf

Yo ! Last I checked, when a mob was snared, it could still hit you. Of course if your dumb enough to cast snare and stand there and let it beat ya, you deserve it. So snare has ZERO effect on a mobs ability to hit you. Of course if you just so happen to put some distance between you and the mob, it's then you'll not get hit. Using your logic, you could say that a ranger who melee's a mob down, root's it, backs off, heals himself, then engages in melee again ... is a exploit? Right. Afterall, doesn't that technique negate a mobs effectiveness? ... Bonzai
