| the country is racist and has been for a long time. what happened in the past has carried over in people's minds and it sticks. in the past most whites considered themselves better than other races. some still do, but it was more prevalent then. since whites were/are the majority, this led to them looking down on other colors...and it was easy to do. this carries over to mixed races. whites would place mixed race people into that lower category because even a part black means that person is inferior. so what happens is that regardless of the percentage white someone is, if they don't look like a normal white person they are discarded. this is why people call obama black even when he's just as white as he is black. white people see he's at least part black, so they want to push him out of "white" and place him into "black". happens with other mixed race politicians and normal citizens as well. it's basically like whites considering blacks to be a disease. if a white person is half covered in a disease, they certainly don't want that person with them. they want them placed with the other diseased people.
