| As a Kansan, I have to say that Sebellius delivered Kansas for Obama, and a lot of moderate republicans are so tired of Bush and the Washington Republicans that I can say that Kansas has a 75% chance of going democrat this year as well as electing a majority of democratic congressmen. Sebellius would be a wise choice, since her record is long, deep, and filled with a history of kind, bipartisanship problem-solving as well as rigorous fiscal discipline. I heard Hillary dismiss Kansas as unwinnable a few days ago. This is why she cannot win the nation.

And how do you know her opinions haven't changed or evolved over time--whatever they once were? I don't know the date of the thesis, but given her age I would think it was written 20 or more years ago. I don't know anyone who hasn't changed/evolved from their college/grad/law school days. | |

| what i continue to find amusing is that everyone labels obama as black. everyone pretends it's a black vs white thing and that he's on the black side. if people are worried about him pushing some strange black agenda because he's half black then why not worry about him pushing some strange white agenda since he's half white? maybe it's a self-esteem issue with white men. we all envy the enormous black penis, therefore the white half of a man must be dominated by the black half. so obama is a black man. anyhow, i agree with obama on almost every issue. his stance on most of them is something i'm comfortable with. the two biggest issues for me are healthcare and the war. obama's healthcare plan isn't exactly what i'd like to see, but it's closer than mccain's. i'm against the war and all the bullshit attatched to it, so obviously that puts me on obama's side. that isn't to say i dislike mccain's stance on everything. as liberal as I try to act, i do agree with him on some things. it's just that he has too many big dealbreakers. another important thing to me is poverty. i want a president that believes poverty in american can be eliminated. at least in the sense that every single person can have all the basic needs and at least some of the luxuries enjoyed by most other people. obama is closer to that than mccain. | I agree. Jindal is a future superstar. It would be a shame for his star to be associated with a old washed up, flip-flopping coot. Last edited by I'm Rich Bitch : 05-07-2008 at 03:43 PM. |

Sebellius looks like a win win for me to as a choice for VP. She would bring in the white women vote. Shes definetly bi-partisian which fits in with Obama's message of change so she could bring in the white working class (hell shes governor of Kansas after all isn't she?) She would be a great way to sway over independents since die-hard and for-the-war republicans have zero chance of switching to democrats whatsoever.

| I plan on voting for Obama for one reason: Judges. I'm a social liberal but a fiscal conservative, and since none of the candidates are fiscally conservative I might as well vote for the social liberal; and if McCain gets to nominate the next couple of supreme court justices, being a social liberal in this country will be difficult. Judges, people. |

| Indeed, McCain said today that we need more judges like Alito and Roberts aka more judges to strike down Roe v Wade. It's really amazing how quick he has picked up on the code words for being labeled once as a straight shooter.

And if you're going to talk code words, you might mention Obama's mention of "social and economic justice" with respect to the judges he'd appoint.

| Obama will win. McCain is destroying the very thing he used to pride himself on...his moderateness...in his attempt to woo conservatives. This will hurt him in the long run. Plus he has alot of "brain fart" moments during speeches, which people will equate to "teh oldness". Also his wife is a robot. The democrats could successfully use that against McCain, saying that he plans to allow the Cylons to take positions of power within the country.
