+5 Internets | I'd have a problem approving heavily biased judges to the bench whether i agreed with them or not. Bush cannot appoint people to any position. He put goddamn creationists in science based agencies trying to change texts/reports. Thats not about being democratic/republic but not supporting going backwards. It'd be almost impossible to trust someone like that on appointee's of all sorts. |

| Obama gets 90%+ of black vote. Hispanics mostly stay home their vote splits between McCain and Obama. Young voters skew heavily towards Obama, 70%+ Older people skew heavily towards McCain, 70%+ Western and NE states skew heavily towards Obama. poor white people skew heavily towards McCain 60%+ women and middle class white men will be the swing vote in this race? Obama should easily pick up the states Gore won in 2000, McCain should get a good chunk of the south and midwest, but many will be in heavy play this year. If the economy weakens between now and November, it will be a cakewalk for Obama. He'll have most of the states above and easily pick up a few red states, pushing him over 270. Assuming no new war fronts are opened, Iraq stays on the back of peoples minds, and no new Katrina-like events occur, its all going to depend on the economy (economy gets way better, gas goes down = McCain wins, economy goes down, gas stays up = Obama win). 2000 electoral map (271 Bush, 270 Gore - lot of red, but blues contain tons of electoral votes): |
