How does the family system work? Can I make my own family?
Players are "born" into families; they cannot choose. This decision was made for many reasons, including the potential manipulation by power gamers to purposely create dominating families in the game, therefore throwing off the balance of power. Every family has its black sheep, and if a player does not like their family, they can form their own guild, and make a conscious decision not to interact with their family. However, there are many benefits to family interaction and 'building the family name'. While guilds come and go, families stay as long as the game stays. It's possible, I guess time will tell. I just posted the game b/c DA is a known guy in the industry and might have a chance to create a good mmo based off his ideas for Horizons. I think he has a ton of work to do.
