A fun article about our friends at curse showing off their amazingly original talents once again. I wish I could spend my dad's money to feel important in the gaming community.

Curse launches oddly familiar WoW database - WOW Insider

I find it amusing that there exist articles like this:
Entrepreneur of the Year

That talk about how innovative he was for seeing the need to do something that dozens of websites did before he knew what an online game was. He must of done something right though, most teenagers can't get their parents to buy them a car let alone put millions of dollars into a startup.

Do we need anything other than wowhead really? I mean, it's basically perfect. Just needs more bandwidth imo.

Down like 10 posts. Strange title though, so the repost is understandable.

And as for my feelings, I'd say it's redundant. The only interesting feature is equipping items on an in-game model, but I'll have to wait to see how that actually works. Plus, thottbot has the 3D model viewer now, and one can only assume putting the model on a character is the next step.

WoWDBs preview seems much faster than Wowheads; nice skin/look as well, but it's essentially the same. Jpg compressed images (especially on the home page) are a bit craptastic looking, but it's a cool theme.

There's always room for more innovation in databases. I like the idea of another high-quality database to give WoWHead some competition (I don't consider Thottbot or most of the others to be "high quality".

Plus, WoWDB and WowWiki are working together, which is badass since WowWiki is my favorite site.

Thottbot's search function was much better. You can't even search by armor type (plate, mail, etc) with wowhead.
