Mabinogi - Fantasy Life FilePlanet: Mabinogi Signup

Well its click to move. Pretty cookie cutter as far as gaining skills. Levels and questing=AP AP=buy/level up your skills.

However whats new with this one is you can pick your starting age from 10-17. Starting out at 17 grats higher stats to start off with with slower development. Starting off at age 10 and your a gimp but you gain more str agi luck etc when you level up. By level 10ish you surpass an age 17 at level 1 as far as skill goes. I imagine starting at age 10=better stats end game.

Also there is a rock paper scissors thing going. You can get three stances. Smash, Defense, counter attack. Smash breaks defense. Defense owns normal attack. Counter attack owns Smash.

Mobs use all these stance and can really kick your ass if you don't pay attention. A typical battle goes as follows. Get first hit and Smash which throws them way back. They will charge with a smash so you counter attack and melt face.

If you don't counter they will throw you back and possible rape you over and over. I do like fighting with fists because you Shoruken at the end of the third combo but sword is also fun cause when you smash you stab them then to pull out the sword to put one leg on them and throw them back.

The Dungeons seem to be Zelda inspired go into a room the door closes kill mobs/find the key the door opens repeat and find the key to the bosses room.

They also throw in a mix of sims type stuff. Part time jobs for cash and going to school. Can only go at certain times of the days and if you pay tution and don't go you lose the cash. School=new skills.

Crafting envolves the normal collect this and go get that. You attack trees and bushes for wood/herbs and all that.

No idea about magic because tution is 4k and I have like 3k so far.

Only one server right now. I am Sadpanda, picked that name cause you can make you face really sad looking.

I don't get it...but to my knowlegde there isn't even mounts in the game and no pet classes.

That video clearly shows milkable Cow utters. Is that a gaming first? Definitely 3rd gen mmog material.

edit: Actually after watching it again, despite the queer anime art style, this looks more interesting than any mmo on the near horizon in both combat and crafting. Looks almost like Zelda-online. Guess I'll have to try it.

Meteo has uploaded a ton of different videos to the Mabinogi portal on Curse: Mabinogi | Free to Play @ Curse.com

He's also done a great job compiling a bunch of info guides in his blog: Mabinogi Life - a Mabinogi Blog | Blogs

He's pretty excited about the game so if you're looking for info he's the man to talk to.

well I'll be damned if the Koreans make the next innovative mmo... whatever happened to the repetitive click fest ?

It's honestly not surprising -- Nexon has a track record for creating fairly unique game concepts for MMOs. Audition Online, KartRider, etc.

Well I must admit this game looks pretty interesting, I'll definitely give it a try.

Hate to break it to you but you click once and you help a chicken lay and egg...milk a cow...reap some wheat etc etc. So it still is a click fest just only to to click once and wait a few secs to see the results.

North America Only, that gay beta doesnt let me log on because of this. And I dont think any proxy would let me play it with a decent ping. Anyone knows how to fake it?
