Griefing

On DRo, the resident uber guild, Hoss, goes around after every patch/respawn and kills the mobs that yield flags to progress. They sure as hell aren't doing it for the loots. They are willfully and purposefully denying content to the other 99% of the server, which boils down to griefing no matter how you look at it.

Everyone starting at ground zero together (well, except of course having an entire guild of people who a.) know what they're doing, b.) function well as a team, and c.) are far far FAR better equipped than anyone else) so threatens their godliness that they have to resort to griefing other players? They're still the only guild on the server who does VT!

The same thing happened with releasing the sleeper. In an effort to maintain their margin over everyone else, once they farm ST to their heart's content it was time to release him. Of course, officially they released him so everyone could do those incredible essence lens/etc quests, hurray!

I was wondering if this is a common practice across servers, or if DRo just happened to get the courtesy rejects. I sincerely hope it's local to our sad sad server, but I fear it's more widespread.

Either way, you can't spell asshole without hoss.

In any competitive system there must be losers in order for winners to exist. Just like there must be poor in order for there to be rich and ugly for there to be beauty.

Your argument is illogical. If you want to kill them so badly, do it before Hoss. Otherwise, you're admitting that you are unable to kill said mobs.

It really has nothing to do with winners and losers. It's analagous to a 10th grader going back to 3rd grade and crushing everyone in a spelling bee. There is no gain for said 10th grader; his only motive is griefing.

Be thankful you have Hoss on Dro man, they are one of the most courteous "uber" guilds around. You think it's tough on Dro, try virtually every other server where there are two, three, six guilds that big.

As far as this griefing, you must be out of your mind. I still have access to their private forums, and there is not one mention of going out of their way to cockblock other guilds. Maybe they are just bored? Maybe they need something to do? Maybe you are looking for excuses to explain why not a single guild on the server is within 9 months of Hoss? I don't know.

And are you still fucking bitter about the Sleeper? He was being awakened by someone, so Hoss decided to give it a try with 36 or something and pulled it off. If not, Vindication (now Township Rebellion on SH) would have done so regardless. Get over it, that's content from two expansions ago.

Some people will find this amusing: up until last January, Druzzil Ro was a server where EVERYTHING was rotated. There were three or four guilds all at the top end, rotating Ntov and all this shit. It was a baby sitting server, basically. One guild broke the rotation, and after much whining and complaining, one of the other guilds that was uber pro-rotation and that also had several hundred members decided they would just basically perma camp Ntov. Two months after that, the only real uber guild left standing was Hoss, who didn't much care either way. The whole thing was funny as hell, three uber guilds totally fell apart or left the server in a matter of 6 weeks.

Grummus (Hoss hasn't touched since patch, and he's been done by other guilds)

PoP has NOTHING to do with the release of the Sleeper you tool.

The Sleeper was a one time event, ment for those FIRST in line.

PoP however is a diff story.

Sorry hear that a guild and its members actualy take the time to trigger events they wont do to slow you down.

Perhaps you should look at the TRASH SERVER you most come from, and those TRASH players to be doing such a thing.

But please no more SLERRER RELEASE BS ok?!

ive got no problem with people taking the time to kill a mob properly with full intention to complete the sequence etc whatever.

if someone chooses to spend their resources/time to block other guilds from content they have access to...ok (in pop, at least so far, that seems kind of a waste. my guild tried keeping aerin dar dead to prevent others access to halls of honor, but eventually we decided it was more fun to just keep progressing, instead of stagnating at one level while blocking out others)

however, encounters that take a single person (or a few small groups) to blow, where your guild has no intention of spending the time/resources to do the encounter properly...thats a whole different story, and THAT i would consider griefing. an example of this would be halls of honor trials (can be blown by one person) or the bertox event

so killing a mob as it was intended=not griefing (they spent the time/resources to do the encounter...you could have done the same, but didnt for whatever reason) this has happened in every expansion eq has ever had. if you are still playing eq, you are probably used to it and expect it

blowing a spawn with no intention of completing it=griefing. this is new to pop...a single person is able to prevent a guilds progress. this needs to be looked at
