I beg to differ... we know he's talking out of his ass, and acting like his finds are right out of National Treasure, hence the /ignore. | |

+28 Internets | Been playing VG for several months now (started right on release then took a several month break) and now I'm enjoying it a lot. I too don't understand the current hatred considering the game in its current form. The game can be extremely boring if you solo and do not belong to a (active) guild (actually, which MMO doesn't ?). I did that for a time and almost canceled again. But I recently joined a great guild and with some grinding, hit 50 soon enough to start APW with them. Now I'm having a blast, both during challenging APW raids (which remind me a lot EQ raiding, well minus the Zerg factor, which is a good thing I guess) and outside APW, grouping or helping mates with crafting or town buffing through diplomacy. The game has gone a long way through (I know what I'm talking about since I played it at release for some months, facing a bunch of issues with my 8800). I agree there are still some issues (not so minor sometimes), but it is now good enough on multiple aspects to have fun, more fun that some more recent MMO games. |

| I am really liking the APW raids. For a first attempt at a raid zone, they really did deliver big time. Its damned awesome. I dont know when the new one will come out, but if it can match or pass up APW raids, i will just keep on trucking on the game until the raids become shitty i guess. lol

| I love how APW is being represented as some amazing accomplishment in MMO history by a few posters on here. It was sup par at best. APW was completely hacked together, the majority of the item graphics for the zone are diplomacy rewards that never made it into the game and a lot of the epics were made up on the spot without much input or direction from class leads. It's a patchwork of "we need to hurry up and release a raid zone because the 50s are bored as fuck and we rushed this game out way too fast". And I'm pretty sure Chromosome still works in VG so competitive raiding doesn't mean shit anyways since you can always have flying nukers and healers out of AOE range (AOE being the only real challenge of the entire zone, other than figuring out the gimmicks of each boss, something most testers had written down before APW went live anyways). Oh look, this boss does a big explosion every X minutes so we need to kill him fast. Oh look this boss I need to charm these wisps and send them to attack him. Oh look this boss has adds that make him more powerful while he's alive. I'm sorry but there is nothing new or groudbreaking about APW, and if you think there is please spell it out for the rest of us instead of proclaiming it as fact. It's the same old shit but on a shitty engine. |

| Nobody claimed there was anything groundbreaking about APW, it is just mechanics you can find in most game but it is well made. Anyways hoping to see totally groundbreaking content suddenly pop from nowhere is never going to happen in any MMORPG period. Else you claimed to have hardly done any testing in APW but for performances, wich mean you started raid testing early but also left early (APW was announced to go live soon like 15 times during testing) and hardly saw 1/4 of all the encounters, since anyways most guilds in test only saw like half of them at best wich got partially changed when they went live. Outside of the entrance boss raid testing guilds advantage was purely on training they had working as a team and not strats. Also some nameds were totally redone many times during test, the first version were really basics encounters, but as the tools(and devs skill at using them) improved they became a lot more complex, you can see it when you arrive to the last two wings of APW (Vault and Basement wich got their boss finalized last) wich promise some pretty good encounters for the next raid dungeon. Else about epics, they are due for another update, perhaps when next raid dungeon goes live, no idea yet. But not in game atm. By the way i was also testing raid content, and did it till the end then fully cleared APW on live, so i know a little bit what i am talking about.... . One last thing, i raid on a 7600GS and even tested for a few weeks on a X300, if you didn't leave testing/VG that early you will know performances got a huge boost at some point, just telling us you had to use illusion show how outdated are your infos on testing and so on APW. +28 Internets | At which point was APW "represented as some amazing accomplishment in MMO history" in some posts here? We just introduced it as a nice zone. None of us is praising it as the second coming. Or is the fact I am having as much fun as raiding in EQ during the old days sounds like an heresy to you ? Shit, back in the days, people weren't spinning stuff all day long on this board. |

| Haha, jsut did a search on chromosome, man balouch i thinked you were just a little cocky braging about raid testing and having in your guild 1 guy that worked at sigil wich made you a know it all, but in reality you are plainly retarded. Claiming there is no challenging content and no competition because you were using a hack prog to fly teleport... is the supidiest shit ever, even more when you know all top guilds were monitored by devs all the time when APW went live so they could collect data and hotfix what was needed to fix. I agree that some of the bosses are too easy, but that'll come in time. Every MMO puts out a softball raid dungeon to start and ramps it up from there. My understanding is that they hadn't really worked much with the scripting engine before APW, so it makes sense that some stuff is pretty simple. Don't get me wrong, because the rest of the game is still pretty much ass. but APW is pretty damn fun right now. It's nothing new or special, but that doesn't make it bad. It's a solid raid zone with some neat little features (the gnome city inside, summonable mobs that combine boss abilities, harvesting inside the raid zone, crafting gear from boss parts, the portal system). | |

| so the new GU made it to the test server, including helm changes. and, uh, wow. they're "interesting". some of them are okay, but some are completely indefensible. I've never seen anything that bad in any MMO ever. I don't even understand how an artist could design those. I try to defend this game when I think it's warranted, but, wow. They're making it hard at times. I'll try to get some screenshots for you guys. |

| You're an '07...on these boards, your opinion apparently means nothing! You missed the reg date by about 4 years, I guess. Had you registered 4 years ago, you'd be exempt from me fucking with you. Too bad ![]() Last edited by CylusSoulreaver; 02-17-2008 at 01:31 AM.. |
