| Cant blame him for shooting high on the FPS thing. Maybe they found something they are perfecting, i dunno. They have to make the exp curve from 1-25 a bit easier. I am not opposed to that. You mostly solo for the first 20 levels anyways. 1 thing i do know is when raids drop APW is going to be lagged to hell and back until some people drop back and allow some guilds to crawl deeper into the dungeon. Dungeon is huge though, so after a day or 2 it shouldnt be much of an issue. We have already all been in APW with about 80 people in the zone and the server was fairly stable.

| My subscription ran out today...Liked the game, but won't be subscribing again. Few reasons really...Main one is the grind. Considering the lack of people playing right now. The size of the world. My level etc etc...You WILL be soloing quite a bit. I think I have soloed about 80% of my time played. I do not mind soloing in the least...I probably prefer it. But the time investment they are asking for, is bordering on rang rang levels to hit 50. At lvl 16, there is a wall you hit that unless grouped...you slow WAY the fuck down on exp. The gear dropped/quested at these levels REALLY isn't conducive to helping you level any faster. Nor making the grind any easier. The group quests should at the least give you a bone to play with. That uber sword of lvl 16 death! But alas, the carrots just aren't there. Yeah yeah...I'm not hardcore. I do like what they have done to the game. But it really is a case of too little too late in my book. I gave them one hell of a fair shot IMO. Maybe I just came back to play a tad too soon. I am sure they will fix the major issues...But by then I will hopefully be playing Conan or WAR. Last edited by Vekruul Shuth; 11-08-2007 at 06:53 PM.. |

| There's something to be said for underpromising and overdelivering though. How many retards are going to be upset when they hit CTRL-P and only see 40 fps in raids now? Too bad the difference isn't noticeable. I am just curious why he said an outlandish number as 70 fps. Crap, I have a decent rig and can't get 70 fps in a raid in WOW.

+71 Internets | The fact that player models had (or still have?) more animation bones than the actual human body, I'd say there is definately quite a bit of room for performance improvement. The problem with VG will always be that the game makes it a fucking pain in the ass to form and maintain groups by spreading shit out all over the place and then making quests that have be done in 30 step sequences. The end result is a lot of soloing, and soloing is boring. |

| On The Neverending MMOG Merry-Go-Round | wait a minute, I thought the fact that everyone and their brother and their neighbors dog solod to 60 in WoW was a great thing, that everyone here has bashed me over the head about when I mention how I prefer grouping games. Now soloing is boring and sucks when its not WoW?

| Tell me about it. You know its a long grind when you get a numb feeling in your temples (like you sucked down a super-slurpee in 15 seconds) and you ask yourself why the hell you are playing through the pain. And this is at level 15 - its only going to get worse as you level.

| Group content, especially premier dungeons, are really well designed in VG, for the most part. So yeah, grouping is way more fun than soloing. If you've just soloed in VG, and you haven't grouped, then yeah, I don't blame you for quitting. Start a group noobs. |

| Just off the top of my head: Aeokhor Zhi (non premier): Nice little short dungeon, the second of three bosses is very well designed. Wiped on her twice before figuring out how to take her down. (Healer that comes with 4 healing adds.) Lair of the Green Witch (non premier): Very easy, but has some fun little quests. Caverns of Notzgha (non premier): Middle of the pack difficulty wise, we spent a lot of time here camping drops, which are very good for the level. Temple of Dailuk (premier): Very well designed, very fun, lots of quests. I hate it, though, because it's always packed. Callendra's Coven (non premier): Fun, but they need to up the spawn rate on Callendra. We camped her two nights in a row and never saw her. Her loot is very good, however. Cyclopes' Tower (non premier): Fun little dungeon. Most people think there's nothing there, but there's actually a quest npc hidden on the exterior of the wall that gives a quest with helms that are much better than Hunter's League helms. The upstairs portion of the tower has several random named spawns that drop keys. When each member of your group has a key you can jump off the tower and get teleported to the upper room where the boss resides. Very few know about this, very good exp from the 4 dots here, very good drops from the nameds/boss/single quest. Hilsbury Manor (premier): Very fun and well designed, reminds me strongly of Unrest. That's all I've done so far. |

I remember just running around pulling a group through it only to find you needed some drop / update and it wasn't in game yet. It was a pretty funky area. I enjoyed a few dungeons but combat felt so "bland" and being stuck in combat all the time was lame.
