Carry Oh key /sigh (non eq related)

Am I the only one that goes nuts when people pronounce Karaoke - Carry Oh Key? or Mana - Man Uh?

maybe its just me but this just gets on my nerves.

Karaoke

Kara = Empty

Oke = Japanese Pidgin for Orcestra

Kara pronounced Kada (D has a slight "R" sound)

Oke pronounced sort if like OK.

Karaoke Pronounced Kada Ok
.
Mana = Mah Nah.

yeah yeah this will probaly get bumped to the rickshaw but im bored at work

I don't like the correct pronounciation of mana.... Probably because the sorceress in diablo2 always pissed me off with it, 'I'm out of mana!' stfu hoewoman, cast that last meteor!

I'm sitting here saying Kada-OK aloud hoping it will sound alright, but alas I have failed. I will continue to be of the ignorant masses pronoucing it as Kari-oh-kee.

And yes I agree about that sorceress part. I'm standing there in meph's chamber. The bitch KNOWS she's about to die and she's telling me she doesn't have the mana to finish off meph? You'd think she could try a little harder.

My brother always corrects my pronunciation of Japanese words, and literally enrages when I confuse Japanese, Chinese, and Korean things (like food and writing). I know they're different, but why's he care so much anyway?

Since my brother is an "anime dork," and I've noticed that the only people that really get annoyed over that sort of thing are other "anime dorks," I've concluded that you should all shut the fuck up and move to Japan.

Morb, I guess that its cause I was raised in hawaii. we speak pidgin here mostly and cause of that we pronounce alot of foriegn words as they are supouse to sound.

Its like if everyone in your town started prounouncing Karate Carry Tee or something. its like someone draging their nails across a chalk board. and bowzer from Sha na na didnt help at all hehe.
