My next post will be about the bugs in AoC and I might even list a few exploits for the kiddies to start abusing at launch (Dont worry they wont' get fixed, because like Vanguard, the devs have bigger issues to tackle. Which is why Ebonlore hugs this game to the death). This post is about the animations. They aren't just amateur they are terrible. You thought WAR looked bad? This is a console game, you need to manage your expectations. Beer and peanuts. Someone just recorded this video of AoC walking animation straight out of beta. I'm maybe missing something here, but I haven't seen any raving fanboys in this thread. If anything, most are highly skeptical and cynical about any new MMO coming out. I see a few hopefuls, but that's not fanboyism, that's desperation.

+13 Internets | Honestly I couldn't care less about AoC even if the game was mildly interesting to me 1 year ago, but I wonder why beta leakers don't shut the fuck up until like 2 weeks before launch: not because they are wrong or they are right, but because they agreed to a NDA and for some reasons people like to forget this. Would I be a mod I'd ban the leakers from these boards and delete the leaking posts. It's not like the audience reading these boards cannot make a judgement with info at 2 weeks from release. And trying to be the Utanayan of the situation is not cool, repeating the same shit at nauseam just grants people a place on many's ignore lists. Signing out. |

| He's too retarded to get this. Unless you are full out decrying the game as a complete and utter failure and saying anything along the lines of "I hope shit happens, but I remain skeptical" you're a raving fanboi. |

| Not even close. Utnayan was pretty batshit insane but he was also correct. He also was coherent and fairly logical. jayrebb has none of those factors in his favor. AoC could blow, it could rule. I'm cautiously optimistic and can saw that none of the shit he talks about is either right or a surprise. OMG AoC has zones, it's teh fail!

9 FPS in city, 19 FPS staring a body on the ground (with shitty graphics). The proof is right in this thread, real deal screenshots taken 4 days ago. Your mystery man with the private messaging can't refute that. Which brings me to my next point. Every action in AoC creates a bug of some sort. AoC Exposure #6: Bugginess. The game has a plethora of bugs, which in a beta is expected and is acceptable. However there are many, many bugs including severe ones such as crashing and then being unable to log that character on ever again. Often times I find myself completely locked out of the game for the entire day. Almost every bridge, balcony and outcropping will bug pathing on mobs which makes for some easy exploit levelage (hey no problem with that) *PROTIP: Make use of balconies and outcropping to stick mobs for easy levels* Several classes arent even implemented yet, nor are things like the entire female race for player characters. You know "small" things of that nature. As far as UT, Im glad I contrast him and make him look good. He deserves the props and he was right about everything in the face of rabid fan-creatures. | curious? Ive decided to PM a few people beta accounts in this thread, (not AoC of course). The accounts may be banned/disabled FYI. No idea because they are all discarded by their owners. Last edited by jayrebb; 02-04-2008 at 04:42 PM.. |

| Well to be fair i think most people would have been impressed with a vanguard screenshot showing a whole 19 fps. Whether its shit or not or we should hate it or not atm is a pretty dumb dicussion. Might as well wait for open beta and by then it will be clear if they are gonna be able to release something thats acceptable or not. hitting 20 fps in most areas as long as it doesnt dive down to 1 or 2 and hitch alot is prolly acceptable for most people. I raided for years in wow with 25 fps and it didnt really annoy me much unless it went slideshow mode. |

If your reading comprehension was anywhere near as high as your opinion of yourself, you'd see that there aren't any fanbois in the thread. In short, quit trying so hard. Oh, and you're still a douche. ![]() EDIT: Oh, why not a hat trick? I'll add you to my ignore list... that way you can be #2 next to Khorum... get it, #2?! ![]()

| As much as I couldn't stand Utnayan... jayrebb is far, far worse, because he's not even relevant. He got to the Vanguard-bashing party well after it was over, and now he's trying to grasp at some e-fame by trying to fulfill the same role for AoC, when it's obvious that no one gives a fuck. Make me choose between the two, and I take Utnayan every time. |

| Advertising In-game and Hosting Difficulties Now on a different note, besides the redundancy of discussing bugs and gameplay concerns while in beta, there is an even deeper issue going on behind the scenes. Apparently, it gets even deeper than the surface issues of gameplay. AoC server hosting is to blame for delays, and the game will be unplayable at launch unless these issues are resolved. Credit to Anarchy Online subscribers for bringing these issues to the forefront. The servers for AoC which are hosted and maintained by a company called IPsoft which is by far incompetent. Anarchy Online was upgraded to the same make and model servers AoC is currently using now and in the future. These servers are ridiculously underpowered to handle anything. The players of Anarchy Online know full well they were promised state of the art lag free servers with this upgrade they got some time ago but the OPPOSITE proved to be true. When Anarchy Online received the new hosting, players found they could no longer play the game. These servers will not support AoC come launch and there is going to be a shit storm to contend with come May. This doesn't even take into account that Funcom is being rejected by Savvis purposely. Details of the hosting problem are in this link below. Skip the technical part if you want to save time, just scroll down and read "can't play" etc etc. savvis.net - Anarchy Online Bulletin Board Insider speculation is also saying that Funcom is having trouble getting in-game ads into the game in a passive manner. Funcom has legally binding in-game ad contracts that it must fulfill. AoC has been posing a serious problem in that they haven't been able to find a way to place the ads subtly. The ads are supposed to be on reflective surfaces such as mirrors, water, shields, and shiny surfaces. They have not found a solution that is not offensive to the player. "Funcom has already made deals with companies such as livegamer Live Gamer - The Trusted Source for Virtual Trading and etc to bring ads into their games and AoC is planned to have them. The current plan was to start displaying the ads on reflective surfaces such as mirrors, shields and water surfaces but funcom is having trouble implementing it into the setting of the game world and making it as passive as possible." What we are looking at is possible mismanagement in the executive division of Funcom. Funcom's hosting deal is atrocious right now, and I don't know if the PC market (especially the MMO market) is ready for in-game ads in a gritty mature rated fantasy title. The console irks of design you may be able to get past, but welfare server hosting and in-game advertising are pretty big rocks Funcom is casting out.
