As unbelievable as this may seem at first blush, you have to remember that the guy didn't put in a lot of time playing EQ back in the day either. He said his ranger on FV made it up to something like lvl 54 wasn't it? And that was well after he left SOE, so he certainly had the free time. Did he ever participate in a raid outside of a testing environment back then?

He doesn't play these games the way most of his target market does, which probably goes a long way towards creating some of the screwed up notions he has of what is or isn't fun.

I think removing the forums was the single biggest mistake they did. INSTANT cut off of the community. It makes no sense.. Sure it sounds good on paper if on said paper you have 2 million users and don't want the headache, but starting up. vanguard was the shit. now its the suck ass. Proof that a DREAM Team of employees can't work together as a team and wipe there asses.

Its like having a team of 11 terril owens.

vanguard could still be good if they ever add in siege warfare and billion other things that didn't make it.

I wouldn't want Terrell Owens blocking Shane Merriman or Warren Sapp while Terrell Owens dropped back for a deep pass to Terrell Owens... Looks horrible on paper.

And with 11 Terrell Owens' they would have to do Ironman and play defense too... Man that idea sucks.

Say what you want about SoE shananigins with end game content and what not. What Brad it seems Brad/Sigil Big Wigs did in this deal was fucking low.

What exactly did they do with the 30 million to develop the game? Cause if they cut such corners in development and were faking demos what exactly were they doing?

Posting in beta threads, and threads about general ideas and practices however are free game for both sides. I found those were less and less about Vanguard and more about the ideals behind it.

A good majority of that money went into the art creation, since as Kendrick has said before the art side of the house was in full gear a good year or two before Dev started ramping up.
