| He is the one responsible for class design and balance, yes. How's that working out for ya? Tagad should have been the first person to get the ax.. literally. And apparently he is the one who made the infamous 'buying a house with stock' quote.

EQ2 was never in anything like as bad a state as Vanguard was and is, particularly widespread duping and XP hacks. While its still gutting for the folks who have lost their jobs there is a bright side to all this - the knowledge that it was Bill Gates who took it up the ass to the tune of nearly $30mill. | |

+29 Internets | EQ2 release wasn't as buggy as VG. It just has some game mechanics that weren't popular. the spirit shard, locked encounters and stuff.

Edit: And yes the world does need more really, really good fantasy MMOs. Emph on the really, really good. As a good friend of mine pointed out the other day when discussing this very issue by far the most popular PnP RPGS are Fantasy: AD&D, CoC, World of Darkness. Sci-Fi RPGS are few and far between. Star Wars? Fantasy with blaster guns (which is why a KOTOR MMO would work better than SWG -- we all get to be sorcerers... jedi if we want).

| So let me get all this straight. Basically Sigil forces its employees to work 80+ hour weeks so they can hurry up and get the product finished, then not long after its finished half of them are laid off because their use has been fulfilled? Corporate America for you |

+66 Internets | Could we ease off on the Nino-love? I very much appreciated his candor and honesty on these boards, and his drive to fix things that blatantly needed fixing, I fail to see what he has done in this game that would lead you to believe he's even got the experience to be in charge? He mostly did sound design and the music on the game, and apparently helped out with design towards the end. Other than that, what exactly leads all of you to believe he'd make such an awesome manager? I'm not saying that he wouldn't, I'm just saying that none of us know a damn thing about the internal workings of SGO (or game development in general) and whether or not Nino would have been a capable manager, producer, whatever. I can just see five years down the road Nino's (let's pretend he's in charge) super awesome spy MMO being a complete bomb, and history repeating itself with Nino instead of Brad being drawn and quartered by the denizens of this board ![]() Last edited by Eomer; 05-16-2007 at 10:14 AM.. |

| I think Nino does good work within his role. What expansion of that role he is capable of is yet to be determined. If anything he needs to be given control of a team to focus on what he does best. If that is sound and music, great. I'd like to see him be in a leadership position responsible instead of being the only one.. giving him more time to take on the additional role as a mouthpiece, unfiltered by the PR department.
