Much as I could see VG was going to crash and burn, spare a thought for people called into the car park and told 'sucks to be you'. Here in the UK that would land the company in serious trouble (not that it isn't already but hey).

| Is this point where I say "I told you so" yet, or are we waiting for something more to occur?

| Plugged In Like Neo | Maybe we should be having a heart and caring about Brad. Maybe he has a sickness...maybe that mental breakdown everyone jokes about really IS true and he's seeking help for it. Maybe he's developed a social anxiety disorder and can't leave his house. Or maybe he's in some psych unit in a straight jacket. Wouldn't we all feel like the asshole then? Nah. |

When soloing I basically pull with a debuff, hit my HO starter and then the 2 DDs that complete the HO, with a reactive heal thrown in when needed. When I am in a group clearing trash, all I really do is put a reactive heal on the tank and wait for it to expire before refreshing. When we pull something big, I debuff it and heal when needed. Never have to spam, never have to button mash. When I played my 70 warrior in WoW it was similar, start with charge, then wait for rage to build to hit MS, Hamstring, DS or HS among other things. Now I will grant you for some classes there are many abilities that do similar things, but if you pay attention you know which few you actually use. I still don't get the hate for the "Button-mashing. skill/spell spamming", cause I don't do it, nor do I see it anymore than a WoW rogue trying to get a skill off when building energy.

Really sorry to hear about any MMO hitting the shitcan but I have to say if it was any of them, VG had all of the signs. While comparisions between VG and Daikatana were a give in, I was seeing "Horizons" written all over VG from what I was hearing. Horizons, to me, was like walking through a field of shit to find a flower: the few good parts about it were completed surrounded by terrible, terrible design. Honestly though, this reminds me of a post I read way way way back on the Lum the Mad forums. Smed was butchered there and Brad (for the most part) was treated pretty favorably; apparently Smed was blamed for all the bad in EQ at the time and Brad was given props for all that was good. Anyway, I remember a news post from "an insider" who stated that it was really Smed who was the driving force behind EQ's success and that Brad had no clue how to run a company or manage development of a product. Not saying if it's true or not, just saying it's..interesting concerning recent events. ![]()
