As I log into EQ all proud that my a cleric can solo stuff now (from yesterdays exp in EQ) I was able to solo a lvl 50mob w/ melee only.

Soo I log in today and but out my new uber procing every 3rd swing (just about) and attpemted to solo the same mobs where i camped at the night before ... well lets just say now the hammer only procced about 3 times the whole fight. So i tried ANOTHER mob and got 4 procs that mob i am screaming ***I WAS NERFED*** and it made me mad again about beening a cleric. it was nerfed form 15-25 procs per fight to 3-4

Man i loved beening a Pally (Pre-SoL Upgrades) for a day tho ... i was owning shit left and right last night

Did you honestly think that hammer was balanced? The fact that you said you were a paladin for a day clears all doubt of how unbalanced that hammer was. Clerics shouldn't even come close to meleeing as well as a paladin. The fact that they could, with fucking store bought spells, was absurd. Welcome back to reality.

The cleric additions were/are fucking stupid. Again, the team has zero concept of class balance/integrity/design. It's all out the shitter. In 2 years we'll all be the same exact class. The suckers still playing EQ in 2 years that is....

Just curious Furor, do you feel that clerics should have no soloing ability at all? Do you think clerics had a viable way of attaining experience (compared to other classes) before the patch? Do you think that they were viable parts of exp groups? These aren't meant as loaded questions. And I haven't personally played my cleric in months, so I can't comment on how goofy they are now.

yesterday i logged and parsed a duel: 56 warrior vs. 57 cleric.

warrior: 25 dps (im not uber, so bite me)
cleric: 24.5 dps

... yes i won, because mightystrike is fun, but that was just *wrong*.

I was soloing the revenants in Rhagg 1's room after the patch. You know, the ones that hit for 404dmg. And I was only using MoR/K, hammer pet, summoned hammer for melee and CE.

Were those changes unbalanced...? /cough Course not ^_^

You can give clerics the ability to solo at least decently. Or if you want clerics to be your personal bitch class, then you'd better grin and love it when you need a cleric for everything.

The problem with the proc approach, like I said before, is that it scales very poorly. It's too good for joe noob 56 cleric out of seb vs your avg 56th level paladin. It's probably not good enough for uber 60 cleric who's finishing off Aten for his 10th time.

If they were to simply make the offensive and defensive caps and tables of clerics higher, it would solve a lot of the scalability. If they went ahead and itemized weapons appropriately for clerics, that would further address the issue.

Utter bullshit, sure you soloed in SSRA vard huh ? 404 dmg hitting mobs unslowed, fantastic, did you chaincast CH on yourself ? or was there a shaman slower 2boxed out of the group ?

Yeah I am sure you furor like the state of the cleric as your easy tool to gain exp solo (with an army of boxed characters behind you).

Soloing a level 50 mob oh yeah sure it just takes 5+ minutes, while a wizard or druid kills 4 level 55 mobs in the same time, and for sure any good equipped melee could do the same. Ever seen regen items ? And what about all the hybrids that buy a KEI for a couple plat and then go solo all day long ?

You have to realize that 25 procs for 75 - 150 dmg per fight ( 2 minutes) are about 2800 damage average. The same damage could be done via 3 Judgement nukes for each 925 damage for 975 mana (~780 with focus and SCM3) total, an amount that can be gained via medding during the same time.

I am really wondering how pathetic paladin damage is when a paladin is not able to do 3 k (20 hits for 150 dmg each, lets see how much 50+ dmg weapons hit for) damage in 2 minutes.

Clerics, while perhaps they should get some kind of upgraded solo ability (I don't know what,) that hammer proc was obviously overpowered.

You know that. I'm sure you had fun with it and all, but deep down you know it's overpowered.

Sorry they put it in and then took it away, but it never should have been put in in the first place.
