+3 Internets | A++ EQ GM Experience! So I run over to SK to check out how things are in there and I notice Ishva Mal up, apparently Devs forgot to take him out of SK because of the live servers having the upgraded paw. But anyway, I kill him and 15s later another Ishva pops. I call over my buddy Thrakka who could use the robe for his Rogue and we go on a killing spree with this Ishva spawn. I then get some weird tell from some lvl 30s yelling at me for stealing their camp. I explain to them that I had no idea and how the mob was up dancing around forever. I decide to come to an agreement to trade off on spawns so we both can share but they only get ishva to about 70% untill dieing in hilarity. Long story short, they petition us for KSing them (because they think taking one's camp is KSing) and me and Thrakka get this character...Keep in mind every single ishva we killed was NOT engaged before we encountered it.

| GM-Itasma tells you, "Hi, I've heard one side of the story and we're so bogged down here with petitions that I'm going to reprimand you without hearing your side. Also, here's a threat to suspend your account. Welcome to classic EQ, enjoy your day o_O" |

+5 Internets | Personally, I think the problem was setting up the expectation that the GMs were responsible for policing the behavior of the players within the boundries of the game world. It may have worked in Pen and Paper RPGs to have a GM dictate what you could and couldn't do to other players, and it may have even worked in a small mud with 2000 players. But the unreasonable expecation to get 10,000 people to all get along and share and hold hands while they sing koombayah just seems really out of whack. Everquest established who gets loots rights to a mob by which person, group, or raid did more than 50% of the damage to the mob. While it was occasionally gay to be leapfrogged to a chest in WoW, it seems like the even more immature thing to do would be to beg for assistance from a GM to get your chest back than it would be to take the fact you got outplayed like a man.

| LOL now thats funny. GM's have a certain way they must introduce themselves. They need to be clear and concise, they also need to identify themselves and also show up on /who as a CS tag when they finally send you a tell for resolution. Wish I still had the Guide Book pdf, id cut and past that section here. I think what happened here is some rang-rang tool made a lvl 1 toon, went Anon and posed as a GM. Funny part is posing as a GM is a bigger violation then KSing. So I would report them and get them suspended or banned due to thier stupidity. If it was in fact a GM, which I highly doubt, they are idiots. SOE needs to find out who it is and can them, they obviously slept through GM Orientation 101 when they got hired.
