Hi guys, president of SOE here. You guys all suck!

Better take a screenshot of this and make a new thread about what a jackass the president of SOE is.

... It is a serious thread, this person did not come up on / all.

Also we petitioned about this response. We had another GM respond and apologize on behalf of Itasma's behaviour.

This person was indeed a GM.

GMs never had a < GM > in EQ1

The GM obviously had to create an account to talk to us, which is why it shows up on eqplayers

Doh, nevermind.

I can't believe this was from a real GM. That's pretty sorry.

GMs don't have to be logged in to talk to you, they can easily go through the chat server... and when they do it's very obvious they're a GM... the name would have been GM-Itsama. Sounds like you were had now you're trying to cover...

EQ GM's have never had GM in front of their name when they chat with you in-game.

We even doubted the authenticity of this GM and demanded him/her show up infront of us. This person did have a green name and GM equipment on.

I then get some weird tell from some lvl 30s yelling at me for stealing their camp. I explain to them that I had no idea and how the mob was up dancing around forever. I decide to come to an agreement to trade off on spawns so we both can share but they only get ishva to about 70% untill dieing in hilarity.

Long story short, they petition us for KSing them (because they think taking one's camp is KSing) and me and Thrakka get this character...Keep in mind every single ishva we killed was NOT engaged before we encountered it.
LOL That is great. GM intelligence never ceases to amaze me. However, I have talked with a couple of GM's on Sleeper and the incoming tells are received much differently, says something like *GM*-Name, different than what it used to be, but still, not just a players name. So you guys found out for sure it was a GM? Green name and GM equipment doesn't completely mean it was a GM, there are some silly programs running around, I've seen much worse then that.

For what it's worth, if it was a GM, we can all laugh at the 25k a year for 60-80 hour weeks (that's a fact). Putting them at around $8 an hour.

I'm not saying they do... but when they're not logged into the game and chatting with you via whatever chat client they use... they most certainly do.

I've never seen a GM with GM in front of their name in Everquest, other than when you /who all GM them. And that's only if they don't use /hide. As far as in chatting with them, I've never seen it precede their name. /shrug I don't play now, though, so maybe they changed that.

Just because they don't show up on /who all doesn't mean they are not on the server.

But when you press reply, and the string comes up as [tell cslive.GM-suchandsuch it's a pretty good clue that they're not logged in...

I'm not really sure why you're arguing this, it was clearly a ingame tell that was sent.

Ok, what does that have to do with this incident or what I said? I think if the reply string said that, there wouldn't have been any doubt from the original poster.
