Hakkar - What the Fuck?

What in gods name did they do to hakkar, he's nigh impossible now. Instead of "sleeping" people that get the lifedrain, it pulls them all to him in a big bunch. Fine no problem. Oh wait there's this little thing called corrupted blood which you cannot avoid anymore, thats 3000 damage per person, and if you can somehow get away from everyone else in time and then kill a son within the time alloted.

Here's another little problem, the MT gets "feared" right off the platform now.

I dont understand what blizzard is thinking sometimes, "Hey lets make a fight where the loot is adequate impossibly hard, good idea!"

If this isn't a hotfix, they basically made Hakkar almost unkillable. If someone actually kills him post patch, please reply here. I dont care how you did it I just want to know if it's possible anymore.

We had the joy of wiping to him just a few minutes ago.

At first we thought it was just anti-LoS-Sploit AI(since we tank him in the corner of the platform and have the rest of the raid sit on the second level so MC is rare), but then we tried it with 'legit' placement and it still happened.

Grats on Hakkar being the hardest boss in WoW for mediocre loot.

pretty much all the high end content in the game got fucked this patch

You get saved into the instance as soon as you zone in, if you zone in before the leader you can get a different raid id. On top of that all boss mobs seem to switch targets for no reason.

Just got out of MC and I didn't see any target switching, however, we were not using judgements

Onyxia and Razorgore were spinning like freaken tops for us tonight. Eventually realised Judgement of Light/Wisdom effects cause that person to get aggroed for a instant. Can make a big difference when 40 people are getting judgement effects and raid boss is spewing frontal AoEs.

Did you try having your tank stand on the far side of Hakkar from the rest of the raid? I haven't seen it firsthand, but people were telling me it basically sucked you into melee range with Hakkar. His hitbox is gigantic -- if it just pulls you until you reach his hitbox, then if your MT is on the far side, no one will get corrupted blood.

(I never understood why everyone didn't fight him this way. What do your rogues do during Hakkar? Have the MT run through him to start the fight and his back is nice and exposed.)

Wonderful addons in 1.8

I think hakkar is just meant to be tanked up above now... because if you notice the sons spawn more rapidly than before.
Stupid way to fix it... just leash him better... but oh well.

Anyway, alliance are complaining that onyxia has learned some new breakdance moves.

The problem is, it actually moves the warrior as well. We just for shits and giggles tested it by being almost out of the leash range, and it pulled us almost all the way to him before it stopped, and the MT anded up walking off the top level of the temple during the siphon.

If anyone successfully beats Hakkar v 2.0 do tell, I will bow to you.

Two guilds claim to have killed him on the R&D forum.

I don't doubt it, but the difficulty of the encounter far exceeds the loot that we're already disenchanting. The only reason we killed him anyway was the Heart for casters.

We killed him tonight. He's definitley a much more interesting fight now. Personally I was rather unimpressed by his difficulty before the change. Sure his loot is mediocre, but at leaste now he's not just throwing it at you.

You'd be extremely surprised how difficult that fight is if everyone on your raid isnt on the ball. Especially the son pullers...

He's definately easier now. I mean I don't know if the AE was bugged even more earlier, but it's acting like a 4 second fear/4 second stun ATM which was absolutely no trouble with our positioning. Now that Sons can keep up with the lifedrains (no longer the stupid 20 minute slugfest if you fight him up on his platform) it's actually kinda fun

I think they fixed the charm "bug" tho where if you de-equipped weapons and put in a crappy throwing dagger you would just have you toss them instead. Now you actually have to deal with charmed people...of course that's not much of a problem now except when a warrior forgets to waste his timer and fears your entire raid...

We did not make any changes to the Hakkar encounter. But there is definitely something odd going on with him. We're investigating his behavior right now to determine what's causing the bug. Hopefully, we'll have a fix for this soon.

Apologies.
