+66 Internets | lol, that depends. A guy I ski with from time to time has this awful wool sweater he bought in Austria, and I think he said it was at least a couple hundred bucks. You know the one, mostly black and red and white with that goofy diamond shaped pattern in the middle. Meanwhile the guy is 6'5" and 300lbs, you can see and hear him a mile away, and he's under the impression the sweater is the height of ski fashion. |

| Haha I love how everyone is commenting on the look and not the actual jacket. If I wanted fashion advice FoH is the absolute worst place to ask as evidenced from previous threads. I was under the impression that they were actually somewhat popular up in Canada maybe I was mistaken. Either way my shipment should be here next week so I can comment further on it then. |

| I've never heard of the brand here and the style is not exactly popular but hey, whatever works for you. I have a somewhat boring MEC (as linked by Eomer above) down jacket in the "puffy" design that you wouldn't like. It is puffy for a reason though and I've literally been outside at -40C in high winds with no concerns at all about the areas that it covered. I did cost a few hundred bucks but it works and it works well. |

| Never heard of Canada Goose jacket. But I can attest that dawn is pretty fucking good, my issued arctic combat jacket is filled with dawn and even at -50C (-85C or something equally stupid with wind) I was still toasty. If you're willing to drop big bucks for a high quality winter jacket, you may also want to take a look at KANUK They generally don't have the tight town dweller look you seem to be looking for, but they are pretty fucking good as far as protecting you from the cold goes. |

| The North Face¿Men's¿Jackets & Vests¿MEN'S HIMALAYAN SUIT I just got this to keep me warm on the walk from my car to the office, it seems to be up to par so far, I will report back once it gets a little colder; barely gotten into the 30's yet. |

| So I got this maybe two or three days ago. First off the thing is stupidly warm. Literally it was like 30 degrees outside yesterday and I was driving on the highway with my windows down going 70 and was still comfortable. I could deal with the hood and the fur lining being a tad bit smaller but I think I've found a way of wearing it to hide some of the massivenesss of the hood. Either way the jacket seems really nice and the quality is through the roof. In terms of fit it's a bit wider than I'd like but I don't know if the down will "settle" or not. Will it? I've never had a down jacket. It fits pretty nice especially around the waist though.

+66 Internets | Nothing is completely water proof, unfortunately. If you get some water splashed on you or wear it the in rain/snow, you'll be fine I'm sure. But if the jacket were to get submerged or left damp for a long period, the down would most likely get damaged and lose it's insulation. |
