| ZITS! Hoho the FoH pro post for the typical basement dweller such as I. I got zits...yep...but they aren't like normal zits. They are what I like to call ninja zits. You really can't see them normally I just have the odd 2 or 3 noticable ones on the face, but then if I take a shower and flood the bitches (open my pores), stretch my skin, you can see soooooo many white head clogged pores. But then when my pores close again, my skin looks really normal again. You can also sorta notice it if the right kind of light is hitting my face at the right angle. Sooo does anyone have zits like this and how the fuck did they get rid of them? I used exfoliating clearisil shit in the shower, after shower i use those daily cleaning pads. I even rub isopropyl alcohol on my face to try and dry it out. I shower twice a day even. But nothing works, they will do whatever if I use all that shit or do nothing. In fact it's gotten worse and has spread, before it used to be only on my nose, on the cheeks near my nose, and in the crevice between lower lip and chin, but now it has spread a lot. Helpz, what works, I was thinking when I was younger and had bad acne my doctor put me on an antibiotic acephelaxin i think it was called. That seemed to work pretty good, he said it was because acne is basically an infection of the skin and need that shit in my system to help clear it out from the inside. Any suggestions here?

| I'm an exfoliation junkie too but you're probably over doing it at this point (and I thought I was bad). Basically if you're over exfoliating you can actually stimulate your skin to produce even MORE oil and that will clog the fuck out of your pores/make it worse (sounds like its already happening). If you're looking for a good scrub (no more than 2x a week for you to start) I'd go with Lush cosmetics' "Ocean Salt". Or Dark Angels. Dont use isopropyl alcohol - get something with salicylic acid in it. Clearasil likely already has some - so do the pads. So scratch that. You have enough already. Pads + one of the scrubs I mentioned. And get a good moisturizer. So that you're not pissing your skin the fuck off like you are now. I worked for Clinique for a number of years so yes I'm biased but "Moisture Surge Extra" by Clinique has no obnoxious smell (They probably still make a package for men but its the same shit as the chicks') and its entirely water based so it shouldn't do anything but soothe and give you water based hydration (which you do need). I dunno I'd have to see your skin. But DONT go batshit crazy on the scrub. |

| /highfive for bad genetics Etoille is correct, all it sounds like youre doing now is pissing off your skin and just irritating it further. One fairly cheap remedy you can try is swabbing your face/affected areas with lemon juice. Just take a regular cotton ball and soak it with some juice and simply apply it where needed. I used this back when my acne was quite severe and it helped me out.

| In terms of pissing the skin off, I have thought of that before and heard of that, but there was a time, probably 6 months or so ago, where I didn't use anything but soap. What prompted my use of all this shit was noticing a problem, because prior to that I used nothing. Also maybe I am just crazy, but when I use moisturizer I swear my skin is like grease monkey slick and shiny. Of course it could be the usual I am trying to hard to pretend I am special and unique but really I am just like most people and that advice should work. I'll see if i can get some pictures of my skin before and after showers.

Its not just any moisturizer - it has to be one that is - there's two types of hydration. oil based and water based. skins prone to clogging still need hydration but it should be water based since oil based can clog pores/will make oilier skins feel uncomfortable. Moisture surge extra. Water based. No fragrance. If you're using a 'regular' moisturizer I'd wager it has (as most do) a balance of both oil and water which is NOT what you need. Soap itself can leave a bunch of shit on your skin (dial etc) so it could be that between that and lack of exfoliation thats where the breakout initially started. Basically its about striking a balance between hydration and exfoliation because if you have a skin prone to break out too much or too little produces essentially the same negative results.

| If you have sweet insurance, it was worth it for me to hit up a dermatologist. They can prescribe some bombass shit that just clearasil wasn't taking care of. Adding stridex pads (with salicylic acid or whatever) helps too. Should only have to use clearasil + stridex + moisturizer for most things. I use cream that costs me like $30 every 4-5 months instead of stridex and no problems at all now. I forget the name of my moisturizer but I can check when I get home. I know what you're saying about looking oily, it really is all about finding the right amount to use. Dab some off if there's too much |

| Use Noxema to wash your face. It's an old classic and still probably the best product to take the grease off your face without stressing the piss out of it. Once a week, make yourself an Aspirin mask. Dissolve 3 Aspirin tablets in about half a teaspoon of water, mix it with aloes vera or honey (it's just to make it sticky), then smear/rub on your face. It's grainy and will do a good job of exfoliating and the Aspirin is actually acetylsalicylic acid, which is the active ingredient found in clearasil but cheaper and without the other bullshit. Don't over do it, your skin can develop resistance to acetylsalicylic acid. The mask is pretty potent anyway, once a week should be enough, maybe twice but no more than that. Stop using clearasil if you try out the mask. Get yourself a decent aftershave balm, then after you shaved instead to just apply where you shaved, do the entire face. There, that's your moisturizer. Alcohol on your face is just a bad idea, it dries it out and then you get even more problems. So don't use rubbing alcohol or any alcohol based aftershave. |

| 1) Over exfoliation can be harmful rather than do any good. It is recommended to exfoliate once or twice a week. 2) Use the THREE STEP acne control system: CLEANSE -- you HAVE to use the specific type of cleanser for your skin. Got oily skin? Get the cleanser for oily skin. Likewise for dry skin. TONER -- this occurs after the shower and before the third step. You are SUGGESTED to use a toner to clean out any oil and other shit in your clogged pores. MOISTURIZER -- you HAVE to use this. If you use an oil based moisturizer and you have oily skin, you are actually causing yourself more harm than good. Use the specific type of moisturizer FOR YOUR SKIN! Oily for oily, dry for dry. 3) Use MASQUES. They're feminine, but they are USED because IT WORKS. If you put a masque on once or twice a week, it will really help clean out your clogged pores. Again with all the other ones, you must use the kind of masque for your own skin needs. For me, I use ACNE PRONE SKIN (Clinique). Actually, it's quite new and I love it. I can't seem to link the product, but if you have the same skin type, look for it. 4) Watch what you eat! If you eat healthier foods, you should be getting better looking skin.

+14 Internets | When I was younger I had really bad sensitive/oily skin and a real issue with pimples. I tried everything from clearasil to vitamin A to making a raw egg masks, nothing helped until I tried the mary kay blemish control toner 3. I know I sound like a fucking commercial, but it was one of those things that really stuck in my head because it made such a dramatic improvement in my life as a young dude who wanted to fuck girls. Did some googling and found a link to it Blemish Control Toner 3 Seriously if that doesn't work, nothing will, and you'll be a hideous beast who will never reproduce forever and ever, and thank god, cause with those genes you'll be lucky if your greasy sperm won't just slide off the passed out fatty you'll be lucky to daterape's ovaries. But it worked for me! |

I've used all of cliniques products and Lush cupcake>all. I had oilier skin when I was a teen and I started working for Clinique at age 19 - exfoliation is like exercise for the skin; after a while you have to start doing more to keep it in line...I am a true type 2 but I use clarifying 4 twice a day and the exfoliating (NOT the 7 day) scrub was the only thing strong enough that I could use for a while; and I was using it EVERY day. In addition to masks and other chemical exfoliators. I found that lush masks and scrubs I can step back to about 2-3 times a week due to the strength. | |

| Welp. I think I was overdoing it, I went on vacation and so far all my vacation and I have been taking one shower a day and already my minimal visible zits went from like 3-5 to 0-1, but I still have a shitton of the invisizits. But still, my skin is looking decent enough. I also stopped using the clearisil exfoliator scrub.

| You should take two showers a day -- at least in my opinion. Don't shower before going to bed? You're going to sleep with so much shit on you from the entire day. Your skin goes through a lot of healing or issues when you're asleep (hence why you may be perfectly clear one day and spotty the next). Just use a cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. You should be seeing results within a couple days.
