| Yeah, I took it 4 years ago. It has a lot of side effects, mentally and physically. It can cause severe depression, although I was fine. Honestly I think the depression stems from how dry your fucking skin gets. It's a 6 month cycle and you literally have to bathe in lotion all day, and put chapstick on every 10 minutes; and even then it's pure hell. Your entire body gets so dry and chapped because I think it basically destroys your oil glands. My mom had this awesome shit though from when she worked in the hospital. I'd get out of the shower and spread this shit all over my entire body and just air dry. It kept me pretty moisturized. Either way, it was still 6 months of hell, but well worth it now that I look back.

+7 Internets | What about acne under facial hair? I have a beard, so you really cant see them anyways, but I do not want them and most of the cleaning supplies i use (bleach and acid) dont feel like they work. How do I get rid of the acne problem under facial hair? (I only read the first page, so if it has been mentioned, then I am sorry for skipping over it) |

+39 Internets | Accutane. One of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. Simply tell your Derm you've tried a large number of other products, nothing worked, you're tired of rubbing twenty different creams on your face, you want to avoid any more scars, and you want Accutane now. If he tells you no, fuck him -- go get a different Derm.

| Daily use of St. Ives Apricot Scrub. Apply Cetaphil lotion after shower every three days. Results: (My GF's Face) 1) No makeup 2) Makeup 3) Little makeup (except for my manly self, I have none on) Used to have acne even in my twenties, until I adopted her program. She gets compliments on her skin like every single time we go out, and mine is pretty damn good these days too. No photoshop used on any of these either. Oh, and don't take two showers a day. If you overcleanse your face your body will overcompensate and create more oil and make your acne even worse. The only other thing to do is wash your pillow cases and sheets once a week, twice if you can, and don't use fabric softener. And for godsake, stay away from Benzol Peroxide at all costs. It was created to make you dependant on the medication. You use it on acne, it clears the acne up, and then your body creates more oil since the peroxide just dried it out, and creates MORE ACNE, just so that you can use the product again, and again, and again, and again.

| I got zits all the time at 32. Usually in the same place. One thing that I cant get rid of is the hardcore oily, yet dry (is that possible) skin. Especially on the area under my eye. its like the pores are open bigtime, to the point that after i show and dry up, the skin is so thin, dry that i can rub it off kind of like its always peeling from a sunburn. Any ideas on that?

| I still get zits. My main issue I think is I'm just not consistent with any treatment. Also, it hasn't always been this way and I'm not 100% sure why, but my face also gets REALLY dry. After I take a shower or bath I have to almost instantly put lotion on my face or else it starts burning. When I was in highschool my parents bought me some ProActiv to try out, and I think it was the absolute worst thing I could have ever done to my skin. It just hated it. The whole bottom of my face was so dry and cracked after a few days of use, I was in so much pain. I don't know if something like that can change your skin, but since then my skin has seemed different, much dryer. Since then I've used lotion on my face pretty much every day, which I'm sure hasn't helped, but I really can't go without it as it's just WAY too irritating without it.

| What to do for blackheads? I don't get zits very often, but the pores on my nose area seem pretty distinct, which I don't like. Its like if you looked long enough you could count each one. Hate it. haha. For a long time I would just wash my face in the morning and at night with soap / washcloth...scrub scrub scrub. This didn't seem to do anything other than make my skin seem oily as hell...like shiny. I want my skin to look dry, not oily. I would like to not have the pores be so obvious. All I do now is wash my face during showers with whatever body wash I am using, currently Nivea For Men: Cool. No scrubbing, just lather up and rinse under hot water. My skin doesn't appear to be getting as shiny, but the pores are still pretty obvious (though not as bad). So for typically oily skin, what would work to keep my skin clean, yet close up the pores (stop blackheads). |
