| What badass phone should I get? So I have been living in the stone-age in terms of cellphones for the past couple years. My phone is 6 years old, I don't have a text plan, and I never renewed my original plan. So I am waaaaaaay overdue for a new phone and a plan. I am using AT&T, but since I don't have a contract I can switch to whatever. I want a badass practical phone. I have no clue whats practical though, would I browser the internet on my phone? Probably not, but I have never had the opportunity to see lol. Of course I gotta look like a pimp, so even if I don't use it I HAVE TO HAVE IT TO LOOK ATTRACTIVE TO GURLS. I mean of course there is the iphone, but anything else?

| I didn't mean to say it wasn't good if you weren't a business user, but I don't think the push email works that great. At least not as far as I can tell. I think the phone kicks ass and would take it over a blackberry any day. |

+17 Internets | My last phone was a Blackberry Pearl (first generation) which I quite liked. I currently use a Samsung Blackjack II, quite a good phone. Windows Mobile, nice size, good keyboard, GREAT battery life.

+66 Internets | I haven't used an iPhone nor a newer BB, but I have a first generation Pearl and I just bought a Touch and to be honest I'm kind of blown away by how well the Touch works, hardware wise. It really is a phenomenal device, and I'll definitely be strongly considering an iPhone in a year or so when it's time to replace the Pearl. I would have gone with one instead of the Touch, but you can't get em 64gb as far as I know, only 32, which is kinda gay. |

| Anyone got any experience with an Android phone? Also sprint is At&T so I am on that. AT&T charges 90 a month for unlimited everything. What about other providers? Also is it true that AT&T has the worst 3g coverage? Lots of dropped calls? or is that just a stupid verizon commercial.

| In terms of AT&T coverage it all depends on where you are. If you're in San Francisco or NY then you might want to stay away from the iPhone since a ton of ppl in these cities have been complaining about dropped calls. If you want an Android phone, wait for a phone to come out with OS 2.0 on it natively. BGR has a review of the OS and it looks sick. Conversely you could always get the HTC Hero which is Andriod and wait for the updates but then it'd be running on old hardware. BGR Android 2.0 early review Then there is the HTC HD which looks sick but runs on WinMo which I think is garbage. HTC Touch HD This is another one you could wait for WinMo 7 or at least 6.5 to come out and get a phone that has it natively. Then there's the WebOS from Palm Pre which is on Sprint but I'd recommend waiting for WebOS to come out on another piece of hardware that is better than the Palm Pre. The keyboard on it is a bit hokey. Then there's the Blackberry family. I'd recommend waiting for the Storm2 or the Bold 2. Both are coming out in a month or so. I use to use a Blackberry and nothing beats them for typing on. The ones with a physical keyboard that is. Even with all of that I'm only marginally faster on my old BB than I am on my iPhone 3GS. It's the last recommendation but not the least and it's also where I'd say to start. See if you can get your hands on a friend's iphone and try testing it out(or jut buy one, you can return it in 30 days and just have to pay the activation fee). Use it for at least a week, immerse yourself in the typing. If you're happy then keep it. But based on what it lacks then switch to another of the recommended phones. If email is very important to you then a BB might be for you. If the lack of tactical feedback on the keyboard is holding you back then look at the Palm Pre and Blackberry again.
