+78 Internets | Roach killer Fuck this apartment, our down stairs neighbors moved out and the people next door around the same time. Now my kitchen is covered on roaches, bug guy has been out a few times already. Last time I asked him why isn't this helping and he said because they would need to pay us more to treat the entire building. We keep our kitchen clean including dishes after dinner and never leave a mess on counters, yet they are everywhere and it is nasty nasty. We are moving very soon and my worry is we are going to take them with us, anything I can do to get rid of them all myself? Thinking of putting everything in boxes and bombing the damm kitchen. |

| Make sure you throw out pasta, cereal or rice that is open and not in a sealed container. Go threw everything and wash everything. Also if you pack boxes dont leave them in the house. Put them in a vehicle, truck or somewhere other than your apt. Also pour bleach in your toilet at night, be sure to keep ALL damp areas as dry as you can, if you cant do that then make a barricade (spelling?) around the damp, moist areas with boric acid.

| Yeah boric acid is going to take a couple weeks to have a profound effect, but it really fucks the little bastards up. I dust it around all window sills and doorways, under sinks and anywhere else I think they may be coming in or hanging out. Unless you decide to sit down and eat a bag of it it's not going to hurt you so feel free to be liberal in your application. |

+3 Internets | You would have to have a lot of boric acid to make a difference in a building. You can try bug bombs. The problem with roaches is the egg capsules. You can kill off every live roach in there with pesticides, but the egg capsules will hatch again and you will have hundreds to thousands back in a couple weeks. They can live off of anything really so just cleaning stuff up isnt going to help. They will eat grease, crumbs, and even fucking book bindings. With the bug bombs, I would set one off in the areas most seen (usually the kitchen and bathrooms), and then at the first sight of more small ones, do it again that day. Even that really wont get rid of them all.

| About 10 years ago I moved into a house with a old friend of mine. He was not the cleanest person. When he moved his stuff in roaches would run out of these items to escape the house. I'm not just talking food bins and stuff. They were coming out of his monitor and shit. Nothing will be resolved from this until you move. When you do make sure the place your moving to has a good bug man and or you bomb the hell out of it before you move in. |

+78 Internets | TEDIOUS AS FUCK! Is what is going on right now, cleaning and packing everything in the kitchen then moving it out to the car that same moment then moving it to the house. I dread opening the back of the microwave and taking apart the mixer etc to be 100% sure. If there is roaches in my 21 inch monitor I am going to set fire to everything and just claim it on my insurance. Also I can't find Boric Acide, just this Max Raid stuff that I imagine is Boric Acid+something. Last edited by Hatorade; 11-04-2009 at 12:49 PM.. |

+78 Internets | We are way past that point, I have battled with them for 6 months now. They send the guy but it barely helps. We have even moved everything out of the kitchen so he could do his thing with nothing in the way, barely made a dent. |

| I'm no e-lawyer but that seems shitty. Granted they 'try' to fix the problem by sending out someone who isn't doing shit for the problem, but... ahh hell, rig it so the place burns down after you leave and call it win win |

+8 Internets | We had a roach sighting about a month into renting our new condo. I don't get it, the place is nice and no one surrounding us appears to be scum but I was 99% sure I saw one. Either way, I called and bitched up a storm and a bug guy came out for like 2 hours a month or so ago and I haven't seen one since. Pretty sure if I had them coming out of the TV and shit, I would just burn the whole place down and hope to make it out ok on the insurance...fucking roaches. |

The good news is that when you move you'll have them coming out of the wood works and then they will never come back again. Well unless you move into another place that has shitty pest control. As a home owner I pay 75 bucks a quarter and have my bug man come out and spray around/inside the house and in the yard. I haven't seen a roach or bug since I started doing that. | |

| Move to Northern California, there are no roaches here. Seriously, all my life growing up in Houston has been a battle with those fuckers. You can never win living in an apartment. Your only hope is to have some nasty mofo's living next to you to absorb them all... but as you see, when they move out... I really feel for you, god im having flashbacks now. its those small little brown ones isnt it? uggghhh, and when you wake up in the middle of the night and turn the kitchen lights on.... gah i have to leave this thread! |

+78 Internets | Moving into our first house and not a single roach yet, if it stays that way I will put this apartment mess behind me. @Earthfell, it is the small rounded ones and the germans with the ocassional huge fucker that have no fear and can take a shoe hit. Swear to god I sprayed a large one on the ceiling and it flew into the AC vent, few mins later bastard was in the bedroom. The wife screeched like someone was murdering her on sight of it, as I got into the room the bastard was on the ground running full tilt across the carpet right at her. Took two more shoe hits to put it down, was like the Marv(sin city) of roaches. |
