+3 Internets | Even when you move, you will take them with you and spread them around your new place. Sure, some of the live ones crawl out when you move your stuff, but the egg sacs are still there and will hatch in 2-3 weeks and reinfest your new place.

| Do you guys live in Florida? They are everywhere here. I had to pay an exterminator to come out and get rid of them. I would only see them at night and they were huge. One time I opened up one of my dvd's (it was one of those previously viewed DVD's from blockbuster where there is a hole at the bottom for the locking mechanism) and there was a roach, tons of eggs, and lots of roach poo inside of it. It freaked me out. That was when I called the exterminator and now the guy comes out a few times a year and does his thing and I haven't seen a roach. Paid $500 for the year and the guy has come like 5x this year spraying and such--I did't want to do it myself because I have a dog and I didn't want to put poisons down and kill it.

+107 Internets | Yeah, South Florida has gigantic palmetto bugs(the big giant roaches). When I moved into my new place just recently, I saw a couple giant ones the first couple nights. I threw down some Harris' boric acid tablets in all the corners behind stuff, under the sinks, etc and haven't seen a roach since. harris roach killer - Google Product Search |

| I know your problem is (hopefully) solved and all Hate, but I thought I would chime in anyway. Obviously if you are skittish around insects, this isn't the best solution, but getting a House Centipede, or a couple is a very effective way of curtailing the fuckers as it actively seeks them out and hunts them down. They are considered harmless to humans/pets, as their venom isn't anywhere near toxic enough to bother humans/pets and their fangs are too small to break skin, like a non deadly version of daddy long legs! |

| Glad to hear about the house helping with issue, as far as boric acid goes, this is the shit you want 20 Mule Team™ Borax Just clean dicey areas with this shit and dust under cabinets and whatnot. Roaches don't eat it, they run thought it, and it wrecks their carapaces or something idk but you will be finding dead roaches of all sizes soon. I found a 4incher trying to roll up in my house yesterday, pet box turtle was more than happy to chase his ass down and make him dinner. |
