I'd say he deserves it for washing his hands in a bar, or washing his hands period, or taking off his watch to wash his hands.

I ran into this bad boy this weekend. Granted, I know Tag Heur can run a couple G's but I was floored when the salesman told me this was ~$5k! Its pretty damn nice looking.

I fucking love me some Breitling! Ran across their limited edition Red Gold Montbrilliant and it was 5 figures in cost!! Crazy shit.

The nicest I have run across in person was while vacationing in St. Tropez. At hotel Byblos they have their own Hublot boutique and this bad boy was on display in the center of the store. I was dumb enough to ask for the price and come to find out it was over $200k! I guess its hand made and limited to only 50 of them made in the world. "Some day" indeed...

On May 26th, 2009 I received a Suunto Elementum Terra as a part of Suunto’s “Try it before you can buy it” program. It is one of three watches that make up their new luxury line: the Aqua (a dive watch), the Terra (a hiking watch), and the Ventus (a sailing watch).

Since receiving the Terra I have worn it whenever I have not been at the office, which is basically evenings and weekends. I have treated the watch less carefully than I would have had I paid for it, and it still looks new. In that time I have moved apartments so it has taken a number of hits.

The case is made of stainless steel and it is crafted with quality, however I expected nothing less from Suunto having owned a Suunto dive watch for several years.

It possesses an altimeter, a barometer and a compass, all of which seem to work well – living in New York City I have enjoyed watching the altimeter as I ride up and down elevators and travel by subway underneath the east river (yes it does go into the negative). It also has a recording feature for the altimeter, but without a pedometer or a cable link to download information to a computer, I don’t think that this is very useful.

The barometer has a quick-look trend arrow graph as well as the current pressure listed in both HPA and INMG.

The compass works very well.

There is an alarm, as well as a backlight that is extremely bright and quite attractive.

The band that I received with the Terra is black leather and very nice – there was also a flyer displaying several options for other bands.

In summary, I really like this watch but I don’t think that I will take it hiking anytime soon. Suunto seems to be marketing it as a dress watch and that makes sense to me. I looked at the features of the other two watches and feel that they are similar – not enough features to be practical for either of their sports, but plenty nice to be worn out on the town if you are a proponent of any of those sports.

As far as cost, I don’t know what this line will sell for, but I would say that they are at least worth a few hundred dollars, and perhaps more. I would probably spend $500 on this watch – it’s that nice.

Love it, hasn't gone dead and I've gone periods of over a month without wearing it. Nice weight, thickness, face size. And its not overdone.

Name of this watch? I'm half interested to check it out myself.
