To me rice is a fart can, taking off the cat, and 15 inch chrome tip from walmart. it's loud, sounds like a bunch of tin cans dragging under the car, no extra performance at all. I'm not saying a tC is fast by anymeans, atleast stock. .but its peppy and exhaust/CAI/etc will add power. . .not much but it will add some. A fart can, taking off the cat, and shit just makes it sound like complete shit and adds no power whatsoever. My car will have custom midpipes with 2 resonators and a hi-flow cat to make sure it doesn't sound raspy and ricey. | |

| Engine has nothing to do with sounding ricey dumbass, it's how you build your exhaust. If I replaced my header and didn't do what I plan to do with midpipes, yes it would sound insanely ricey. If you do what I plan on doing it will leave out the rasp and leave it deeper |

+12 Internets | Hm, so much for the headlight thread, eh? As a motorcyclist, I'll say this: Please do me a favor and don't run anything hotter than 6k Kelvin, because your sweet purple lights blind the fuck out of me, and everyone else on the road that's coming at you. Not to mention your nighttime visibility is shit past that anyway. As a guy that ran a tuner car community for 5 years and did his share of throwing disposable income at an Eclipse, I offer the following advice: Save your money. Your Tc, Civic, Eclipse or wtfever shitbox subcompact you drive is still slow no matter how many mods you throw on the thing, and you never get any of that cash back. Here's my old car: ![]() Shitloads of "tuner" mods, including full exhaust, headers, pulleys, proper suspension (swaybars and all), TB PnP, pistons, rails, and a dual stage 120 shot wet kit with an RPM window switch amongst a slew of other crap that it pains me to even think of. (I had god-awful taste in amps back then too, heh): ![]() I had the better part of 5 large into this thing and I ran a 13.1. I got about $500 back out of it from selling off the 10lb tanks and putting some of my stock shit back on. I've got a couple of dust-collector car show trophies in a box somewhere with my timeslips too. Here's what I drive now. ![]() I "modded" it with a hardwired GPS, mudflaps and a K&N for slightly better MPG. Seriously, save your money. Buy a boat or something. I wish I did.

| People put those in because of the sound, they rationalize it with the gained 2-3hp (5hp on some models! omg). Don't trust your butt dyno: the car isn't going faster because it sounds cooler. I'll keep it there before I go further into nerd rage about the shit that are oiled air filters or the absurdity of front wheel drive "sports car". |

Altezza tail lights and a fart can also aren't a license to drive your 130hp "tuner car" like a fucking asshole on public roads either.

+66 Internets | I like my Dinan exhaust :/. Yeah it's only 5-7hp, but 335's sound pretty wheezy with the stock pipes. But it doesn't sound like a fucking lawnmower, just a bit more throaty than stock. |
