my hand writing is fine, it's just so stupid that the program recognizes a circle as a 0 when I'm clearing writing words, not numbers. No matter how perfectly round and small I draw the circle. or that a t, really looking like a t, always gets recognized as an f. Nevermind how often the e becomes an l and how the l becomes a (. The relative size of the characters is completly irrelevant.

I use a tablet - if you run through the handwriting recognition a few times it will work a whole lot better. If you have a few numbers and letters in particular that it has trouble getting right you can target those and teach it your way of writing them. I had issues with the zero and lower case f also. I just taught it that I would always write the zero with a line through the center of it. After about 20-30 Fs in the recognition tool it doesn't seem to have any more problems. Oh, to get to it - open the input panel that pops up when you want to write something and go to Tools - Personalize...

+11 Internets | I bought one a few years ago for art making purposes and it was a terrible decision. I've heard of people really liking them for that kind of thing but the one I got was a piece of shit. It was a tecra m4 and it was always really really hot (and LOUD) and would crap out anytime I'd try and use photoshop/painter. Viewing angles were absolute shit too. I'd stay away for a couple more years and then probably try them again. |

I use an X61t. The handwriting recognition never ceases to amaze me. I'm using Vista Tablet Edition. Also, the "recognition" doesn't work well for words that aren't in the dictionary, but otherwise, I can handwrite (all in cursive) a whole Journal document and then easily search out anything I wrote using Find.

What is weird is that the recognition software works much better with cursive vs print for some reason. Honestly, I don't use the pen on mine to write too much - I have a HP TX2 that the screen swivels. I type during some classes and use the pen on math and engi classes.
