+1 Internets | Shipley's Doughnuts all over the place in Texas, with a sprinkle of Dunkin Doughnuts. As far as coffee, our corporate office has the single shot fancy coffee makers. The buy single serving packs where basically makes one cup, you stick it in the maker, and it makes the cup. Best cup of coffee I have ever had, better than Starbucks. Example: Linens 'n Things - Keurig Single Serving K-Cups

+1 Internets | Oh, and Shipley's has the best plain glazed doughnuts of the bunch, but overall I like Dunkin Doughnuts variety the best. Kolaches is pretty much Kolache Factory (their bread is pretty moist, Shipley's is hit or miss), Texas Jalapeno Sausage Kolache is complete win.

Of all my coffee-making devices, I probably use the Keurig the most. That's mainly for the convenience. I don't think it compares to a high-end cup of drip-made or press-made coffee using expensive, home-ground beans. But it's a lot quicker, less of a hassle, and the end result is still very, very good. If you own your own grinder and standard-issue coffee maker, and you want the best coffee you've ever tasted (and also some of the most expensive), try: Zoka Coffee Roaster & Tea Company - Guatemala El Socorro y Anexos | |

| The coffee itself is not the problem... Dunkin donuts coffee is good when you make it on the french press or expresso machine (my roommates buy it)... it is just that they don't make it that way AT Dunkin donuts... |

+10 Internets | I need my coffee shit out by a civet to be worth a damn anymore =/ Seriously tho I envy you, I've drank so much DD's in the last 25 years it will never be as good for me again as it is for you now and this thread is reminding me of that. Fuck. I just depressed myself. Also there are in fact BAD DD's out there where the coffee sucks and the people are assholes. It's far more noticeable with ice coffee than hot coffee tho. That shit sits and gets sour. I can think of 2 that are a toss of the coffee dice I drive right past in Somerville to get to one in Union Square that is on fucking point 100% of the time. You know what I just realized, the ones that suck don't allow tipping (they actually have signs taped to the register saying tipping is not allowed) and the one that rules does. The one that rules is also completely owned and operated by a family. I just found a killer DD with a drive thru by my work. Hi I'm drunk and I like coffee.

| heh dunkin donuts make a vastly superior latte and mixed type coffees. it mainly has to do with the consistency of the coffee they use, starbucks to often can range from yuck fucking burned to ok. not to mention its 75 cents cheaper then starbucks and doesnt have pretentious douchbag hipsters working there. |

+11 Internets | I've been drinking DD coffee at home for about 6 months now, the dark roast and french vanilla are really good. Hell I'm brewing a pot now. Can't say I've had it in the store though. You can usually pick up a bag at Walmart for 6-8 bucks. |

+49 Internets | Krispy Kreme are indeed shitty. Dunkin Donuts are ok, but for good donuts you need to seek out the masters in New England...Donut Dip in Western Mass. They only have 2 stores (W. Springfield and E.Longmeadow), which have been around since the 50s or whatever, but they have bar none the best donuts I have ever had. I remember going to Cali like 20 years ago and thinking "Wtf? Where are the donut shops?". Mind you I'm used to Massachusetts, where there's a fucking donut shop every 50 feet. Kinda like Baptist Churches in Texas!

+3 Internets | Too many bums hang outside the Dunkin Donuts around here for me to want to walk in there. Makes the place feel scummy. There is a spot where there is a Liqour Store, Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins, ATM machines, and a Wendy's all next to each other. Thats were the panhandlers hang out. Drives me nuts when I want to grab some cash, booze, Wendy's, and ice cream. Last edited by Tyen; 11-06-2008 at 10:00 AM.. |
