They are all over the West Coast. There used to be a ton in Arizona but they moved out until recently when some dude bought a bunch of franchises and brought them back.

As far as I know there was a ton in California too. I remember going to a few in San Diego when I was a kid.

Maybe you're color blind to orange and pink.

Any coffee prepared the american way sucks (drip coffee)... Unfortunately, this seems to be the only way you can get coffee in the US. I seriously don't understand how people can like coffee prepared on a drip machine. About 80% of the time it tastes like bitter water. Some drip coffees are good enough to be drank and the dunking donuts coffee is in that borderline. If you haven't tried it yet, I urge you to buy a french press (about $20) and make coffee this way... I guarantee you will like the coffee a lot more (that is, if you like the way coffee tastes in the first place) If you don't really like the taste of coffee... stick with your typical drip coffee machine. (please not that I am not saying french press is the best way to prepare coffee... just that is the most affordable way to make good coffee... as expresso machines usually costs $300USD+)

PS: Did I mention you can make capuchinos with a french press? 2 reasons to get a french press!

Pic related, post made me want coffee

They're definitely not in LA, or at least if they ever were, they haven't been for decades. "West Coast" might have been a bigger region than I was prepared to speak on behalf of. Sorry.

I keep hearing from visitors from out of state that Dunkin Donuts coffee is amazing, but unfortunately we don't have any around here I can try. Nothing but Krispy Kreme, and I've heard it's not even comparable.

I know it's a longshot, but does the grocery store bought Dunkin Donuts grounds come close to the real thing or is it far off?

Wow... I figured Dunkin' Donuts must be everywhere. We even have two in my little town, and we don't have any Starbucks. =P Learn something new everyday I guess.

Dunkin Donuts medium hot coffee cream, half sugar. (their normal sugar amount makes it way to sweet)

Millie, if you head to quincy you can actually go to the original dunkin donuts. It's in the same area as the Presidential Church. (i think thats the name of it, church with few famous US founders buried in it)

Dunkin Donuts coffee is good but I like my Wawa
I moved to LA just over a year ago. Order of things I miss from Delaware:

1. Wawa (sandwitches + Herrs potato chips = mmm)
2. Dunkin Donuts coffee (better than Wawa's sorry)
3. Capriottis Subs (Seriously LA, you can't get a good sub shop together? 50 quality Mexican or Sushi joints, nobody wants delicious sandwiches?)

I bought some ground DD coffee beans at a supermarket here and tried it out. It tastes pretty much the same as the kind you buy in the actual store. I'd say it's definitely worth it.

LA isn't a big sub town. I mean, we've got the national chains and a handful of locals, but we don't have any regionally famous-for-being-great sub chains. We've obviously got lots of great Mexican, and also the best burger chain in the country (In 'N Out). We're also the birthplace of Taco Bell, which isn't really "Mexican" in any authentic sense of the word, but which I still think is a great fast food place.

Random fact of the day: There are over 90 Dunkin Donuts within a 10 mile radius of my hometown.

When 9am rolls around they ALL have lines; people south of Boston lovee their Dunkin'.

For sure it's a solid step up from Mcdonalds, but as an east coaster who went in with admittedly over-hyped expectations, In 'N Out was a bit of a letdown. Sure, it's as good a fast food burger as you'll find, but it's still a good step down from your local burger place.

But I'm not knocking LA's food in general. I love Mexican and Sushi and Thai and that type of thing is here in plenty. And there's a ton of little holes in the wall with amazing food. The best sandwich I've had in this town came from Larchmont Wine & Cheese. Little place in a sorta yuppie area with a sandwich counter and it was fucking fantastic.

My search for great BBQ in Los Angeles however...yet to be fulfilled. Any tips anyone?

-Er, this is a giant derail...sorry about that. I don't want to take anything away from Dunkin' Donuts...that place seriously has the best fucking coffee.
