+1 Internets | All Nintendo has to do is add a red racing stripe to the outside of the Wii, and call it Wii+ and watch the sales double. I'm actually surprised they haven't released different colored Wii's yet to cash in. I'm sure it's coming. |

| Fads can last 2, 3, maybe 4 years before becoming a trend. Also, the Wii generally didn't start selling into the batshit insane numbers until about a year after it's release. Never-the-less it is the console that we all know appeals to women, the old and the young, and prototypical non gamers, as well as the traditional Nintendo fans. I doubt a console that is supposed to appeal to that wide of a demographic could be exhausting all of their potential buyers already. After seeing the sequel to a game that started the whole craze in the first place not be able to sell literally any consoles, it leads me to believe that the fad is waning at this point. Nintendo has said that they won't do a price cut this year, but we'll see if they have to change that plan. Quote:

| Flaccid Steel | What Horse said. If they had unlimited supply, I wouldn't be surprise to see a million sales a month for the first 3-6 months after the initial release. I think at this point, everyone is just holding out before PS3 makes another price drop. There are quite a few good games to play but people don't mind waiting for a bit longer for another price drop since they've waited so long. |

+107 Internets | At what point will it be saying much? It's been true since the PS3 came out and will continue to be for the remainder of the generation. I'm hardly a Nintendo fanboy, but you can't argue with numbers. Are you insinuating the PS3 is still waiting to "blossom"? |

Wii - Video Game Sales Wiki Release sales were healthy and normal. November 19, 2006 in the US. It was q3 of 2007 when the christmas buzz took off. And it doubled its release sales, and the shortages came, etc. | |

| A Bearded Gnome | The Wii was sold out everywhere at release and was rare for a long ass time up until this year. Trying to change history isn't going to fly here.

I know a couple of my friends who I've been trying to get into the PS3 camp have gone from 'when it gets to $299' to 'maybe I don't need one' since Blu-Ray players have dropped to the $100 mark a few times this year and it's become one less reason for them to get a PS3 now. +107 Internets | It's not hard to understand. It's just that your posting history is notoriously biased toward a single console, so I tend to veer your opinion in that direction. My apologies for assuming. My point was that at any point in the PS3's life(past, present or future), it won't compete with the Wii's sales. |
