Yeah, it's DSLite and DSi sales combined. It's a beast.

I wonder if the reason why Bobby Kotick (CEO of Activision) was trying to strong arm Sony last month was because he was butthurt after he realized that inFAMOUS was outselling Prototype on the PS3. lol

The best part is there are no DS games on that list. It moved 750K units in the middle of summer with no big game releases to help push it.

I wonder how close the PS3 versions of #1 and #2 came to making the top 10. Looks like inFamous probably took a pretty big bite out of potential Prototype shoppers on PS3.

InFamous destroyed Prototype on the PS3. Same scenario as The Show coming out on the same day as 2k9 and being a better product. (Although to be fair, Prototype was much better in comparison to InFamous than 2k9 was to The Show). Informed user base makes a good decision. After all, if you are going to buy 1 of a certain game type why wouldnt you buy the best available?

To quote some NPD person, Prototype sold "roughly 600k" units, so the PS3 number must be just a little under the inFamous number.

I would say it is a solid performance considering the PS3 installed base in the US is just shy of half of the X360's AND the game had to compete with a very similar title that got released just before it.

EDIT: inFamous' 367k on PS3 alone in a month and a week is also pretty impressive.

MS released their spin - 360 has had largest (and only) growth during the first half of 2009 of the 3 consoles at 20%, PS3 and Wii have both declined.

Sony and Nintendo haven't chimed in yet.

Gamasutra notes this is the first time we haven't seen WiiPlay in the top 10 since it was released.... in Feb 2007. Gamasutra - News - NPD: Industry Year-Over-Year Declines Widen To 31%

I just picked up a DS lite in preparation for Scribblenauts. Christ, so many RPG ports / remakes for advance/DS. Zelda, Chrono Trigger, Breath of Fire. That's a good couple months of casual gaming for me right there.
