I have to agree there. It's one of the most anti-climactic endings of any game I've played.

The game itself is still fun, but it would've been so much better if the story didn't suck and the loot had at least some sort of logical consistency to it.

I'd settle for the connectivity problems being solved, and the shitty catch-up quest system being fixed or replaced or something.

I think it's safe to say if you're playing Borderlands for the story you're doing it wrong. The advertising was a clue.

And out come the apologists! The game isn't perfect. The ending sucks. Let's not argue.

I wont defend it too much - games like this are sometimes more disappointing to me than games that flat out suck just because they got so much right while getting so much wrong at the same time.

From my admittedly limited experience with my first corrosive guns...are these supposed to be I-WIN buttons? The other elemental types just aren't very good. I can 1 shot something with full shields with a corrosive weapon or I can use my shock weapon to remove its shield and then switch to an incendiary, explosive, or normal weapon to molest their health. What...the fuck? It seems like they could address this superiority easily by making shields AWESOME against corrosive.

Yeah there is a bit of disappointment in how close this game comes to being 'that game' that I have been looking for since Diablo 2 got boring. If they had gone the extra mile they could have created something with damn near infinite replayability.

But instead it is only a very very kickass single player game that I've already gotten my money's worth out of. Both very satisfying and very disappointing at once.

Ending was fine. It's obviously setting up for more, which they have planned. Some more detail about what was in the vault would have been cool, but I'm sure it will be expanded on later.

As it is you simply know it's not treasure and it was keeping shit in, not out.

I liked the ending, the game itself has a certain humour to it and the ending just seemed to fit .

I can't really describe what I mean by that but the ending pokes fun of itself as much as the rest of the game did I think.

Corrosive sucks imo, doesn't even begin to compare to fire for me (siren).

Wat? That's not what it said at all.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I believe the words were roughly, "I'm sorry I couldn't tell you about the Barbara Streisand monster at the vault, lolz, glad u didn't die. Too bad the key won't work on the vault for another 200 years. Ciao!"

Nothing said there wasn't treasure inside. Simply that you don't get any of it.

Meaning unless 1. Our characters somehow live to be hundreds of years old or 2. They replace our characters (unlikely to happen in an expansion), we're not ever seeing the vault unless there's a sequel.

Did you not see the chick was a projection made by Hyperion? You were used to stop Atlas from releasing the creature.

My sentiments almost exactly. This game is very very close to being as epic as Diablo but falls just a hair short. The good news is though that if Gearbox doesn't go that extra mile in Borderlands 2, someone else surely will.

The game can still be remedied through DLC, if they produce it fast enough.

Gearbox has already demonstrated they are swift to patch, so I have little worry that DLC will be slow. I have high expectations for additional content, and I do not expect to see Borderlands 2 anytime soon. Can't wait to see what is coming down the pipe. Bring on the zombies!
