While we're fucking things. Fuck cheap drum pads that break after a week of play.

ya at least half the songs in GH/RB the bass line you play is not the actual base line of the song.

my last roomate played bass for 6 years so i had to listen to him bitch and moan every time he had to play base.

Bass needs to be completely changed at some point - way too easy compared to guitar, which translates to not fun. Either they need to change the peripheral (more buttons , button states for slapping etc.), or they need to start upping the difficulty of the bass lines through song choice.

The problem is that they want songs that are consumable by the masses obviously. So its not like they can throw some Bela Fleck (hmmm actually that's not such a bad idea....) Weather Report or Yellow Jackets out there and expect a ton of sales.

Still would be cool to have a Jazz Fusion download pack with some insane Bass lines.

Even some Mother's Milk era Chili Peppers would be good....

Heh - meant to type that in above and forgot. Good call - old school Fishbone too as long as we're going down that road.

At least on RB2, we'll be seeing some better bass lines tomorrow. Fucking Iron Maiden.

idk on world tour theres a lot of songs that were pretty hard on bass. ive only played through the career once but i remember there being some tough songs. maybe not tough like 'oh shit i just failed', but tough like 'i will never get 5 stars on this'

I think that's what alot of people dislike about it. Going back to GH3 when people saw the chart on TTFAF and TDWDTG they just shit themselves because of the sheer difficulty.

No bass song has that same level of difficulty. Not even Visions or Panic Attack from RB2 and certainly nothing GH has thrown at us.

True - and that does make sense as you are almost never going to hear a bass player shred at that speed unless you are talking Billy Sheehan or something (and his music sucks and isn't even as fast). For me, it's not necessarily about the speed - I just wish there was a completely different mechanic to simulate slapping/popping/tapping etc....to throw in some challenge and also make it more like playing the real bass. And for songs - just better bass oriented songs...more funk, r and b, soul, even jazz.

I haven't been looking in a long time - have they ever released a Funk pack or anything like that?
